He mismanaged his bullpen in the game played prior. Charlie "bunt with 2 strikes" Montoyo is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Don’t worry, we won 2 of 3 so the worst managed inning in the history of baseball is cool.

I have a theory of a possibility of what may have happened.

After the last time, I’m assuming Chatwood and Montoyo had a talk. Chatwood was obviously upset Montoyo took him out while we were still winning. He hadn’t yet blown the game. What if Chatwood asked Montoyo, if a situation like that came up again, to give him a chance to get out of the inning and prove himself? And Charlie agreed he would give him one chance.

If that’s what happened, I can understand it. You want to believe in your players, and your players will respect you if you listen to them and give them a chance. We’ll have to see what happens going forward.

He's mismanaged the bullpen countless times already this year. This wasn't a one-off.

What a **** of 7th inning. First Blue Jays game I decide to watch and can’t understand why Chatwood is still on the mound when everyone in the ballpark knew he didn’t have control after 3 walks. No one warming up and let him get him self out of trouble. Cost the game That was worse managing I’m sure Chatwood would have pulled himself out if the game if he could.

man. you hate to see it. Chatwood was our best reliever a few weeks ago. (one of our best) and now he's getting crucified by the masses.

the only thing common between then and now: the hate for Montoyo

Our manager’s statements are pathetic.

I would expect something like “I’m pissed off we lost this game”, or “that loss was on me”, or “these are the types of games you need to win if you want to be a playoff team”.

Instead we get “really happy to escape Cleveland with 2 out of 3”!

No fire. No accountability. No hint of any desire or ability to be better in the future.

ice cream for the boys. charlie says tyler chatwood gets two scoops and extra sprinkles because he gave it his all and wanted to cheer him up after a bad outing.

All this tells me is that if the exact same situation arose again, he'd do the exact same damn thing. Especially if we've already won 2 games in the series.

Now we know what it would be like to have Homer Simpson as the Jays manager.

I would legitimately rather have Homer Simpson out there.
