Re: The Ben Simmons Megathread - Part V
Hack-a-Simmons was a major issue yesterday, and teams will copy that. Wait till this team is playing the Bucks or the Nets, or whoever comes out of the West, it's a nail-biter at the end, and the opposing team employs that approach. This team's in big trouble if they don't sit Simmons at those times. Imagine being in crunch time against the Nets in the ECF and having the offense limited to Simmons's foul shooting. Embiid doesn't touch the ball, Harris doesn't touch the ball, neither Curry nor Green shoot, and the offense is restricted to Simmons's foul shooting possession after possession.
Essentially we just saw a recipe yesterday for beating the Sixers in a close game. Simmons needs to be pulled at those times from here forward. The offense has to function at least to the point that other players touch the ball and get scoring opportunities.

Re: The Ben Simmons Megathread - Part V
the fts weren't why we lost that game.
its not ideal by no means but hitting 50% was "fine".
Doc going away from the hot hands for Curry and an ice cold Tobias hurt more than Ben.
Again its not great and he should be ashamed (honestly hope it happens more if only because he can't hide from it) but it did not cost us the game

Wait till it happens against a team that has less difficulty scoring. When opposing offensive possessions feature Durant, Harden, and Irving, 50% free throw shooting every time down ain't gonna cut it.

I agree 100%....I don't understand why we hooked Maxey at the end only to bring Curry back in. We were hot and we had that game, it was there for the taking at the end.

Re: The Ben Simmons Megathread - Part V
They will start hack a Ben the minute Sixers lead grows to more than 10 points tomorrow (if the Sixers are able to get a lead)
It’s an obvious strategy. It’s to break momentum.
The Sixers had all the momentum going into the final 3 minute of the game last night. And the intentional fouls broke the momentum.
It may get worse if Howard and Simmons both in the game.

Wiz is so bad on defense that they think Ben Simmons’s 50-ish percent shooting has worse points per possession than our halfcourt offense against their defense.

NBA rules should be changed so that teams have the choice of free throws or a reset shot clock and an inbounds in response to fouls. The opposing defense shouldn't have that much power to dictate a team's offensive game.

If the NBA didn't change the rules for Shaq, they wont be changing it for Ben Simmons.

Yeah of course, change the rules just because our little spoiled brat can't shoot and won't put in the work to improve, he will still get max money and muh all star games though, so who cares other than anyone else not named Ben Simmons?

Does Ben Simmons throw the best entry pass to the post in the league? Can't remember him messing up a ball to Embiid down low

I can't tell from your avatar and video. Do you love Ben Simmons? Do you hate Ben Simmons? Or do you like me have a love hate relationship with Ben?
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

Dislike at first (concerns about his character pre draft), then love later on because I thought Brett was the main issue with him and he would make a massive leap, but then hate because the issue is simply him and doesn't give a **** about improving.

Re: The Ben Simmons Megathread - Part V
I'm a Simmons supporter, but it's time to move on from him. His ceiling is much lower than we anticipated, which ultimately limits this team's ceiling with him. He needs to play somewhere where he's not expected to be the 2nd best player on the team.
