As opposed to what??? Do you want a prospect to say that I have no room for improvement or something along those lines??

To me it shows that he wants to take his game to a next level, and knows the difference between a well rounded player and a Jordan clarkson. I don't get how you can knock a guy for saying and understanding the right things.

What do you guys think of Ibou Badji from Barcelona? I know this guy has been mentioned in the draft thread before but that was back then before he officially announced to declare for the draft. From the clips he can shoot, has a long wingspan to block and has great foot work. I wouldn't mind taking him with one of the seconds.

He is raw as hell but his physical attributes are intruiging, take him in the second and play him in the G-League for 2-3 years.

I'm not knocking him, I'm knocking anyone thinking what he says here is at all meaningful to him being a good prospect. He's coached by his agent to say all the right things, much like everyone going through this job interview.

Agreed. He could be like Moses Brown on OKC.

I think all ATLTimekeeper meant was that it's his job to say that, ALL prospects should say that and it doesn't really mean anything.

If we do end up drafting Mitchell (which I don't know if we will), I hope we can move Malachi for a late first to grab a guy like Trey Murphy. Malachi was already getting no minutes until we started tanking, so bringing in another guard to go along with Trent and Harris, and possibly Lowry, is just going to block him further. Trey Murphy is tailor made to play in our system. He's long, quick, and athletic, and is just an efficient shooter. You throw him and OG on the wings for draw and kicks and they're going to light it up.

The interaction between Rich Paul and the mother of a potential draftee in the nypost article pretty much summed it up. There's very little you can take away from these interviews as prospects are all being coached on what to say now. Find me an off-the-cuff interview with people who know the prospect well and I'll pay attention.

Our biggest need is a natural offensive talent who can create, so no more high-end role players like Barnes, Keon Johnson, Moody, or Kispert.

nbadraft.net extended mock draft #1

1.Houston - Cade
2.Det - Mobley
3.Orlando - Green
4.OKC - Suggs
5.Clv - Kuminga
6.GSW - Barnes
7. Toronto James Bouknight 6-5 190 SG UConn So.
Bouknight was one of the breakout stars of the season, coming off a promising freshman year at Storrs. While he doesn’t have elite length, he has sneaky athleticism and had numerous highlight plays at the rim. He shows a lot of grit and determination with a crafty skill set that has shown excellent improvement. He showed just how lethal a scorer he can be with his 40 point performance in an OT loss to Creighton in December. Comp - CJ Mccollum

8.Orlando - Moody (Comp - Glen Rice)
9. Sacramento -Keon Johnson (Comp - Lattrell Sprewell
10.NOP - D.Mitchell (Comp - Ty Lawson)
11.Charolette - Jalen Johnson (comp - S.Jack)
12. Spurs - Kai Jones (comp - Jaxson Hayes)
13.Indiana - Corey Krispet (Joe Harris)
14.GSW - Ziaire Williams (comp - Rashard Lewis)

They don't have Sengun in the 1st round - Giddy to Boston

By size, mobility he looks like an NBA player. He basically is the dimensions of Rudy Gobert. I think he will take time to develop and it maybe longer than a couple years, and I honestly think the G-League tilts more towards guard play than being a good place to develop a C. I'd draft him with a second and stash him in Spain or the Adriatic League. I watched a couple interviews with him and he seemed like basketball was a fun activity for him. I am not exactly sure he has a great work ethic or passion for basketball:

In the Mike Schmitz DraftExpress interview below, he states that he is playing basketball “to make [his] life easier” after having a conversation where his parents kind of pushed him towards it (football was his first interest).

One of those is not like the others, also I don't how you can cap their potential to just being high-end role players this early. Keon Johnson and Moses Moody absolutely have the tools to be able to create...just say you want Bouknight and be done with it

The thing with keeping him in Europe is the developmental team will have less control on how to mold him, shoot he might not get the minutes that is needed to develop over there or the coach might play him a certain way that the Raptors might not want. The Raptors 905 have proven they can develop a project with best of them, I'd put him in the G-League and watch him blossom from up close.

To me it doesn't make sense to just ignore what he says either. The film guy identified a weakness and he said he understands it's a weakness or area of improvement. Gave some context as to why he didn't show more in that area and then gave comps of the players he models his game after and players who he doesn't wanna end up like.
That's exactly what I want to hear from any prospect.

We've seen NBA players say sentiments like "I am who I am" Ben Simmons or DeMar "that's not my game"

I've always liked their layout and they do a good job covering prospects. But I've seen many people around here say that the site sucks

I think they did a good job here in the lottery, but I agree someone will take sengun in the 1st

Well Duke's scouting is decent, right? They've lost took recruiting destination to Gonzaga but still good. Better than Kentucky now.

I feel like most times, the Raps have drafted players we wouldn't expect. It was more variable in recent years due to late draft picks, but even this year, after the top 5, it's quite a wide range. The only 2 times I felt like we went the expected route was DeMar (we needed a scorer/appealing for high flyer/dunker) and Poeltl (most mock drafts had us drafting him/was considered the safe pick).

If we actually end up 7th, there shouldn't be TOO many surprises of who we pick. But who knows.
