Stevens just did a reverse Popovich/Pat Riley.

Honestly this is kind of scary, dude has zero track record in the front office. At least his milquetoast personality won’t matter anymore.

I think Brad is a better basketball mind then a coach.

I mean, wouldn't that get him off the books?

Sorry guys, I kept this under wrap for a while... but while I’ve been posing as reload141... it was to infiltrate on this forum and learn how to be a HC.

It’s all on you now

Zarren handles the business and Brad will probably handle the player relations side. Danny was out of touch with today’s players especially with the dumb comments he made lately.

May not be the worst idea because he's in street clothes 90% of the time anyways.

Well Brad has been complaining about the lack of size with the Celtics.

Ainge fails, steps down. Brad fails, moves up. Makes sense.

I think it’s the opposite. He’s been around these guys everyday. I’m pretty sure he knows who he wants out of there ASAP. We will probably find out that Brad begged Danny to trade Kyrie in 2018-19.

And for what it’s worth - when you are an NCAA coach, you are pretty much like a GM in terms of player recruitment. The only thing Brad doesn’t have experience in is trading players.

This. I would 100% rather do this than hire some guy with GM experience that's been canned or "stepped down." Stevens knows this team better than anyone. I'm sure his college connections could help with the job search, as well.

If Steven just getting promoted so quickly it seems like to me this has been in the works for a while and maybe why he didn't take that Indiana job.

get ready for the yearly rumors of some team trying to hire stevens to return to bench.
