He's just forced to do it with or without Lowry.

Dwight cannot play 48 minutes and with the amount of fouls he committes we have two options: Ben at the five or Scott at the five.

Damn. I was reading that thread from the medical person about playing thru the meniscus tear and one of the examples was ANDREW BYNUM playing thru his in 2010... You know, before the Sixers traded for him after he had surgery and then never played a game EVER for the Sixers because of constant knee problems?

I read an article from SF Chronicle related to Wiseman about all the NBA meniscus tears. It said most do not have a permanent impact on players from a meniscus tear. Also, this one seems pretty minor according to reports.

I think the bigger concerns are if he returns for the playoffs and how effective will he be. And how to prevent the injuries in the future (including playoffs if he plays).

Surprised he's listed as day to day. Seems it would be at a minimum re-evaluated in 7-10 days.

This is where you get an idea of what this Sixers team is all about. If they lay an egg without Embiid they wouldn't have won anything anyway because the character wouldn't have been there. With or without Embiid, they aren't beating the Nets with a team that doesn't rise to the occasion emotionally and compensate when a key player is hurt.

In fact I would like to see this team grow more of a pair by having to play the Hawks without Embiid. Then hopefully Embiid can be back to play the Nets as a shot in the arm for a team that will have developed some more character in the interim. If they lose to the Hawks without Embiid then again they wouldn't have won anything anyway. Better to have them develop some character by playing the Hawks without him. That's the only way they're getting by Brooklyn anyway.

All about? Um, they're all about having the most dominant big man lead the team with a couple of other very good players. I don't expect anything when he's out really. Btw, the Nets and Bucks are currently 0-0. Let's see what happens before advancing them to the ECF.

They were 9-10 without Embiid. Although some of those are also without Simmons. I think there's very little chance of them not winning this series, but would I be surprised if they fell to the Hawks without Embiid? Not at all. I think at best it's 50/50 they beat the Hawks without Embiid and may even slightly favor the Hawks just for being hot and in sync.

Embiid wants to play like KD and Kobe than he needs to drop 20 pounds. I dont want him coming in at 280 again next season its too much for a player that likes to play out side the paint explosive offensively.

I wonder how much Durant's achilles rupture will factor into the decision to play.

The point is that the only way they're getting by the Nets (if they make it that far) is with an emotional advantage generated by player leadership and passion, and playing poorly without Embiid indicates they wouldn't possibly have had one.

We are doomed without Embiid , so the best strategy is to lose the next 2 games to force a 7 game to win some time to Embiid to heal. If he heals in 2 weeks we can get him in Hawks series.
If we cant win a game 7 at home against the wizards without him we wouldnt go far in the playoffs anyways..

If we can't win a game FIVE at home against the Wizards without him we wouldn't have gone far in the playoffs anyway, and that's my point above.

A team that comes out and lays an egg with its star player down in a game like this (at home, to clinch the series) doesn't have the character to win a championship.

Honestly, i feel bad for Embiid. He just had his best regular season and a reckless play will cost him the entire year likely.

We aint beating Atlanta without Embiid.

Our contender hopes are done with this injury.

I fricking love Joel as a player but at the end of the day his health issues are too much of a problem.

Yeah. A lot of George, too. But Ben at 5 and those 2 at 1 we gotta finish of the Bullets and come through on Atlanta. Then Biid comes back with no more jumping. (Like Kareem.)

(Damn. I wish we had Hinkie chasing down those high tech specialists to perform another Frankenstein intervention.)

Don't worry guys, Ben Simmons is here to save us, I'm sure he has been training berry berry hard as he always does just for this moment, to carry the load.

If Joel doesn't come back this playoffs and we lose to the Hawks, Morey is going to load up the cannon to launch him out of Philly.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
