Who was the Nets MVP this year?

As great as KD and Kyrie are, as is James Harden, all of them can drop 50 on you if they wanted to play hero-ball instead of sharing the wealth, but IMO Harden is the MVP because he's the conductor who makes it all work.

Or to steal an old line from the great Reggie Jackson, Harden is the straw that stirs the drink.

Anyway, it's a tough choice but James is my pick for team MVP. How bout you?

I'd say The Beard.

KD is arguably the most talented player in the league, but Harden is more of a 'vital engine' than even Durant IMO. It's rather tricky metrics though, since we've been such a patchwork team all year.

I've thought about this subject for awhile.

Kyrie was the MVP of the team. As nerve wracking as his antics and absences can be from a purely on-court standpoint, ya gotta love his heart both as a player and as a man. He is the glue that held the squad together during an injury riddled regular season.

James is the MVP of the league. No one, and I mean no one, lifts their team to be more than the sum of their parts better than Harden. I had a feeling he could revamp his image and be just as effective as his high usage Houston days by coming here, but I was not prepared for him to be even better!

Kevin will be the MVP of the Finals. He makes game winning plays on both ends, and he's the most unstoppable force in the league in postseason situations. In a year where many players are putting up video game stats, he stands above the pack.

My vote: KAI

The Beard was the ultimate glue that kept it together.

MVP is a regular season award and even with coming late via trade and missing a ton at the end he was responsible for the most RS wins for sure.

In the playoffs, as it gets later, probably durant.

Kyrie somehow oddly played the most games for us, despite being the most injury prone. He was unreal. 25 ppg on 50/40/90 is rarified air. but he also didnt have quite as big an impact as harden game to game. Harden raised eveyrone 2 notches

joe harris the real mvp, no nonsense and hard worker, the best shooter in the league. defenses zone in on him because of the gravity he pulls when on the floor. started and came off the bench and longest tenured net.

Really impossible to answer this question, I'm going to go for a 3 way tie based off what your criteria is for a MVP

- Harden is the MVP by traditional MVP standards. He was the guy who steadied the ship for us after a jittery and injury plagued start to the season(remember getting dominated by Solomon Hill and Colin Sexton within the space of a week?), then he put the team on his shoulders and racked up the Ws and the stats.

- Kyrie was our heart and soul this season. I think the team feeds off him emotionally, there were many moments where we were playing flat and uninspired then a burst of energy from Kyrie on both ends triggers a Nets run to put us out of reach, then there was the Lakers game where we completely fell apart after Kyrie got ejected. And yeah he did put up one of the best scoring seasons a guy of his size has ever had in the NBA.

- KD is best player without a doubt IMO, and the one who is indispensable if we want to win a title. But he was clearly the one preserving his body/effort the most in the regular season out of the big 3 (and with good reason coming off an achilles tear). Between that and the Covid absences which weren't his fault I'd say he was the least valuable out of the big 3 in the regular season, but he is also the one who will be finals MVP if the Nets win out.

James Harden was God tier and frankly had the hamstring not derailed him, we would have captured the 1st seed and he would have been neck and neck with Jokic for the MVP award.

However, I cast my vote for Kyrie Irving, because he held this team together through a season where KD and Harden got hit hard with a mix of injuries and covid protocols (which were complete bull ****, as we can see by the way the NBA picks and chooses who to suspend for violations). Kyrie has been the one constant who we've been able to rely on all season. He isn't the floor raiser that Harden is, but his historic level of efficiency and offensive play has been a huge catalyst for this team being pretty much unstoppable offensively even if one of the big 3 is out.

To me its Kyrie.

The only star who actually played games for us this season. KD and Harden did not play enough.

Kyrie brought it every night. Even when we had no one else.

Out of the big 3, Kyrie. Was simply the most available.

Overall? Honestly might be Joe. Was there for us all season, no nonsense, and a key part of our offense.

I think all 3 guys have taken turns of being the "MVP" at different points in the season. Hard to really choose one over the other.

Having said that, Harden probably has the "best" stretch of games and his game is perfectly suited for regular season winning.

My vote was Harden he lead the league in assists and elevated the role players every game he played. He was efficient and carried the team to the 2 seed and there’s no doubt we would be the one seed if he didn’t go down. KD is the playoff MVP you simply need his skill and scoring to win a title and he shows up like no other player in the post season. Kyrie had been the glue though and leaves his imprint in every game which I could certainly see as being MVP worthy. I think we will see Harden again and realize how important he will be when we run into a team that really tests us in the post season. Praying he doesn’t get reinjured when we face that point. The good news is the MRI was negative and he’s chomping at the bit to be back on the court. An honorable mention goes to Joe Harris. He played every game including back to backs until the last couple of games. He was the lunch pail guy and the constant all season. Another mention is for Blake. His passion hustle and effort is contagious. You can see it from the bench and he’s gotta be the fun guy in the locker room that makes everyone laugh and get through the tough times. This team is fun to watch and despite the haters it’s a team that has had a lot to overcome in a short time with a lot thrown at it. I also tip my hat to Nash. A rookie coach dealing with multiple injuries and lineup changes all year with everything being new is not an easy task. But he is out coaching Bud right now and deserves some credit for it.
