Hear me out though - he's already a legit scoring option. Say what you want about the scrubby Cavs, but the guy still put up 24/3/4 on 47.5% FG. 1.6 treys on 4.4 attempts (37.5% 3fg) and 81.5% FT (6.4 attempts). Averages a steal a game, but also is a supreme fiesty chivato.

Cavs certainly don't seem wedded to him, and given they'll likely have another high pick and he's coming up for extension kinda talk, I could see a trade.

Wild thoughts...Sexton and Love for Herro, Igoudala, Dragic and Achiuwa? Obviously Iggy and Gogi won't be long for the roster, so it's really about getting back rookie salaries that fit better.

Sexton
Robinson
Butler
Love
Adebayo

Love would expire in 2023, which at present is the same offszn as Jimmy if he took up his PO (it's possible Jimmy negotiates an extension though...but if not, that's the reload offszn). Mind you, I'm still trying to work out if Love can actually play anymore or not. Is it a case of the Blake Griffin's (e.g. guy doesn't want to be there anymore and gives minimal effort), or is he just old af and broken down?

Cavs would deserve the scold that they would get for that trade-- I don't see it.

Sexton will have to force his way out (unless CLE gets a good pick back in return) imo

keep developing players

I believe our focus is in house & develop further the young talent we have in Herro, Duncan, Bam, Precious & Nunn. Esp. because we lack picks. That's our future. I can't see us trading away Duncan & Herro for players that'll just move the needle a little, just to buy us a gm or 2 in the 1st round. Let alone sacrificing young talent for aging veterans with small windows, only for us to be bounced in the 1st or 2nd round.........And then what...

Only way we deviate from this is if we have players like Kawhi, Beal etc. interested. Players that'll address our immediate issues & help to make us a legit contender. I think once we land that needle mover other players will come, the domino's will fall & we'll have more options to build a true contender. But that's a big if & what's key here also...landing that significant name to entice others to come.
yes it is as you said. lets see what happens during the summer

Lowry
Robinson
Butler
Leonard
Adebayo

Would be a hell of a lineup. Just sayin'.

No idea if that even works from a cap perspective, but it'd be something. Still need size tho.

Hell, i'll even throw an MLE at Victor Ola-cheap-o and we can really cause some defensive havoc.

Good thing mavs won game 5. One more and I'm 90% sure Kawhi will leave LA. He is not the most loyal dude after all.

Kawhi didn't sign with the Clips because of a promise to get a chip. He moved there to be home and they gave his family more financial benefits than the Lakers. He left two title winning teams to be in LA.

7’4,7’3,6’7,6’5,6’7 that’s what the Dallas starting lineup was last night. I better never see small ball garbage here again. Still can’t believe people in our front office and coaching staff really thought 6’8 200 Ariza and 6’6 220 Iguodala was a good idea at PF. I want to see us get big and physical this offseason.

Neemias Quetta might be attainable if we tried to get a pick.

That should be easy this year..half the roster are expirings, rfa’s, or have team options

I'm lowkey hoping for Belly to stick around.

Aside from the need of personnel upgrade, a new offensive philosophy would be refreshing.

Belly not coming back. Reports came out coaching staff was not happy with him. Maybe cause he called them out about not playing him. Maybe the Heat not pleased with his shape.

I expect we renounce everyone except Nunn, Duncan, Strus and Dedmon.

Sounds about right. I think we'll try and get creative with Goran's 19.5 million opt in for a S&T deal. He's still a very good player that someone will take him in trade if we give them an asset like Herro to make salaries work out for a free agent making 20 or more. Would also be a nice going away present for Dragic. If nothing materializes on that front he'll be renounced.

7'4 & 7'3 combined for 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 0 blocks ... and the Mavs got outrebounded by the Clippers who played exactly one guy > 6'8 for all of 20 minutes.

The Clippers are outrebounding the Mavs for the series too (217 to 195).

We didn't get outrebounded because of our size. We got outrebounded because our players are a bunch of bitches who had checked out. Rebounding, like blocking in football, is mostly about technique and want to.

MWP, You got to give up the idea of going Big. Spo is a system coach like Phil and D'Antoni. Pat tried in the past to influence Spo to make more emphasis on size and rebounding and it never happens. Pat just gonna have to find the players that fit Spo system
