He also has no motor from what I saw. This guy is going to play hard for an entire season (let alone a career)? I remain skeptical.

he plays hard, he's very young. i have never had an issue with how hard he played while at arkansas. but i don't think he's athletic enough to be a true 3 and D player as a finished product, and not enough handle or crativeness to create his own shot. i think he would have some value as a late first round pick as maybe a spot defensive player who can hit an open shot, but people are projecting him like butler and that ain't it at all. Best case would be a Danny Green but he would have to really improve his shot to get there.

I find it funny that Moody is a lotto pick but Isaiah Joe went middle R2.

Moses is a bouncier Joe, and I am not buying him in any way.

No **** Sherlock. Of course he's not Klay...right now. I mean, let's be serious here. Klay was the 11th pick and a lot of the fanbase didn't even like the pick at the time. But if you want a ceiling comp for Moody, that's mine.

Joe is shorter, older, and much skinnier. Moody is going to be a beast when he is done filling out. Just watch.

not a good comp at all, different styles/archetypes, they won't play the same role at all in the NBA, and Moody doesn't have some of the physical limitations that Joe has.

everything has been covered pretty much. but he's plug and play right now. 3&D at least. Plays well off ball. makes the right plays. Doesn't try and do too much on the floor. rebounds, defends, consistent shooting stroke, can fit in well with stars. There's some room for development ala Middleton if he puts the time and effort into it.

If you're drafting him to be your franchise guy right now you're doing it wrong. but he's definitely one of those championship pieces that a team needs to surround their key players with.

as a Warriors fan. Thoughts on the type of fit Moses gives you with the current construct of the team (healthy Klay included)

I doubt he is there at 14.

Yep. Too early to get draft in the 6-8 range, too late in the 12-14 range, I guess.

As I said in the OP, I just don't see the appeal for him in the first 7/8 picks.

Appreciate all the posts here.

He might seem like a reach in the 6-8 range. But who is a better option in the 6-8 range? After the consensus top 5, the next group of 10 or so guys (you could argue) are debatable/interchangeable.

I even see Moody and Kuminga as basically interchangeable. Both solid but probably not elite defenders. Both raw but reasonably versatile offensive players. Moody a bit more shooting upside, Kuminga a bit more slashing upside. I could go either way depending on what my roster needs.

I'd put Barnes, Jalen Johnson, Springer and Sengun in this range.

Sounds about right. My next tier after the consensus top 5 is same as yours except Giddey and Mitchell instead of Barnes with Bouknight right on the cusp (I just haven't researched Barnes, Moody or Keon Johnson much since I know they'll be off the board when my Celtics pick but these other guys have a slight chance of still being there)

6-8 is not too early to take Moody if that's the guy you want. Watch and learn fellas. Just as last year I had Patrick Williams #4 before anyone else, Moody will rise in all the mocks the next couple months.

I'd put Giddey and Bouknight in the next tier, 8-12 I think.

Mitchell I still don't know, haven't finished studying on him, but I'd certainly not put him in the top 8. I'd say he's in the late lottery for now, but that could change. Ditto for Keon Johnson.

I think there's a dropoff in the talent after around pick 17. I still have to finish studying/reading/reflecting on lots of prospects, hopefully I can finish a top 20/30 big board right around the draft lottery.
