I'm rooting for the Mavs and Nuggets to close their series out. Sign Kawhi to a max deal- whatever contract structure he wants- and than do a sign and trade for Lillard centered around 4 1st round picks and either RJ or Randle (preferably Julius.) Maybe have to throw in IQ or Obi in the deal as well.
That's how you build a championship level team quickly. Go after disgruntled superstars that keep getting bounced out early every year in the playoffs because their teams are in luxury tax hell and can't possibly improve their roster much.
We get Lillard and Leonard here and we'll be able to get top quality players during the AS break who get bought out from their teams and are looking to ring chase. Why can't we be the team that does this? We have tons of money, a treasure trove of draft picks and supposedly a FO that's well connected throughout the league. I imagine the perception around the league of this franchise has changed dramatically after the season we had.
