Playing on a sprained ankle at that. UFA once his 1-yr. $5M contract expires in the summer.

he would be a SERIOUS upgrade for our defense

he is not good offensively but he's definitely an overall upgrade over who we've got.

How much money do we have to spend and who are the top 10 of the available targets. I know we have some money and flexibility. Just not a bunch.

Noel would be fine. Hes one of the targets I'd be happy with. Holmes looks like hes going to be too expensive, Drummond sucks, and Harrell is a bad fit, so I think they should be looking at Noel, Theis, or maybe Tony Bradley. Sign one of those guys and bring back Zeller if you don't get a center in the 1st round and the center position should be better this year without spending much money.

Noel or Theis + PJ + pick 11 or Zeller, should be a plenty serviceable and versatile rotation as long as the team retains its perimeter talent.

Sounds good to me. I do not want 20 million invested in a C unless he is a prime age all star. Your line up has depth and should ADD up to 20 or so.

The team doesn't really need anything flashy from the center position anyways. They need defense, rim protection, rebounding, and lob catching. If they keep Monk + Graham (and bring over that Kulboka dude) then the team has plenty of shooting and scoring and doesn't really have any major needs other than just getting a second star, but their isn't really a realistic path to a star in this free agency. They should just look for serviceable options that are good fits and continue to focus on what the front office and coaches seem to be good at, which is drafting and developing players.

my dream realistic offseason...
nerlens noel
mcdermott or duncan robinson - or another wing 3pt stud, like bullock
resign one of graham/monk or a decent backup - frank jackson, mcconnell, payton, mills
cheap vet center depth

i think thats about as good as we can hope for.

That's kind of sad that we are conditioned for Noel, Mcdermott, Elfrid Payton as a dream offseason with as much cap space as we have

Maybe lightning strikes twice and we win the #2 pick and get Mobley

Finally getting Nerlens Noel would certainly make 23-year-old BoB happy.

We have like $20M. Signing three rotation worthy guys, including a starting caliber C, for that much space isn't easy.

Could see Mitch doing one major signing with the bulk of the space, then keep his options open. What options? I dunno. He can go above the cap to re-sign Bird candidates, Monk, Zeller, Graham.

There’s a ton of cap space around the league and not a lot of good free agents, so I don’t think there will be a lot of value out there. Feels like a lot of dumb contracts are gonna be handed out like Summer 2016.

If Memphis does not play B Clarke (almost never had minutes in the play offs and was behind Tillman - sigh - in the rotation), maybe he could be available for really cheap. Even if he is not another alpha to pair with Ball, he is better in everything compare to the current (and passed) frontcourt players from this team
By cheap, i was thinking about some 2nd round picks (maybe the 2022 pick), or even a monk s&t (no idea if it could be doable though).

There are rumors Duncan Robinson might be getting 20 mm/year offers this offseason; this offseason is going to be pretty nutty.

If available on the cheap or reasonable we definitely should sign him.

Have to think winning this trade battle has to be close to the top of our list of priorities this off-season.

How good is Turner beyond his reputation? Does he solve our weaknesses inside? I take it this means giving up PJ at the very least.

He was extraordinarily impactful defensively.

Eww not Payton. Way better options than that.

Duncan Robinson is intriguing though.

I say offer the 11th pick for Turner straight-up and see what happens.
