Re: The Playoffs Thread
5 games of Julius Randle is going to prime the Hawks well to defend a less offensively aggressive Ben Simmons. Similar type of player who we're going to need to lean on in this series. Hopefully Tobias shows up and dominates. They have the big guys (Hunter, Reddish, Capela) to throw at our playmakers sans Embiid.
We absolutely need someone like Maxey to abuse Trae. I don't foresee Seth outshooting him nor shutting him down on defense.

I'm not letting Trae Young abuse Seth Curry all game or all series. Stick Green or Simmons on Young as soon as there's a problem. Or Thybulle off the bench. Adjust the rest of the matchups accordingly. Hide Curry on a guy like Hunter if needed.

Hawks fan here:
I don't see the Julius comparison with Ben - Ben excels as a passer more so than Julius and will not force the issue with his shots. He has such a quick first step to get by guys.
Cam Reddish has been out injured with an achilles injury since the regular so he is out. I suspect Collins will get the Tobias matchup.
You cannot hide Curry on Hunter, Knicks tried to do that with Rose and Hawks kept posting up Hunter and he was just shooting over Rose, he was 6-11 last game. Hunter was out from a meniscus surgery and was on minutes restrictions the 1st 2 games vs the Knicks, he is finally getting his legs back. Hunter can also put it on the floor and drive the ball.

Ah, I honestly haven't kept up with the Hawks recently, so missed on the Reddish injury. Either way, the team is full of size that can matchup well with our team. The only situation where we can bully the Hawks on offense (which is, unfortunately, our only offense) is with Embiid. If we win this series, it will be one of these reasons: Tobias went nuts, Embiid returned, the Maxey Show arrived. Otherwise, I just don't see us keeping up offensively.

What's the latest on Embiid? Feel for him.Negrodamus wrote:jayu70 wrote:Arsenal wrote:

Hawks can go cold from 3 sometimes, they get too 3 happy. They have these offensive luls that won't work against a better team.
Gallo has sucked on the road but a flame thrower at home - he's a vet, he should be better on the road, same with LouWill. If Capela gets in foul trouble, Hawks are playing a rookie as the backup so that'll be something to watch.

Makes it all the more upsetting that Embiid might not be 100%. The league is wide open. I don't think the Bucks or the Nets are unbeatable.

Re: The Playoffs Thread
It seems Portland will blow it up this year. Dame is already complaining on social media. In the offseason we gotta get Cj or Dame.
For Cj maybe a Tobias trade is enough? He would fit really well here. Or we could go crazy and try to get Dame? Maybe a package of Simmons, Mathisse and 2 picks( and maybe Maxey ) would be enough? I Love Maxey but Dame is crazy good and so clutch, he and Embiid would be unstoppable.

Give them Simmons/Shake and picks and go get Dame. CJ isn't good enough to add to this team. We're not getting CJ unless we give up Matisse and Maxey. They're both too valuable.

Giving up too much for Dame. Dame we would have to give Simmons and one of our young guys. They can have Shake all they want, hell let them take Paul Reed. But Maxey and Thybulle are untouchable unless you can somehow keep Ben.

Lol. You can't be serious. I love Maxey and Thybulle but they are VERY touchable if we can get Dame.eyeatoma wrote:sodmoraes wrote:It seems Portland will blow it up this year. Dame is already complaining on social media. In the offseason we gotta get Cj or Dame.

Embiid+Lillard+min players would be better than what we have now.

Also Embiid is good for 60 games. Lillard and a bunch of scrubs is barely a playoff team.eyeatoma wrote:Then you'll have the same problem the lakers did.cool93 wrote:Lol. You can't be serious. I love Maxey and Thybulle but they are VERY touchable if we can get Dame.eyeatoma wrote:

Re: The Playoffs Thread
Hawks. We’re built to defend guys like Trae. If Sixers can’t slowdown Trae, nobody can.
Hawks isn’t prepared to defend Biid or D12. If Capela is in foul trouble, they have to rely on Okongwu who is very raw.
Seth and Tobi should run more 2 man games like in G5 of the Wiz. Then Tobi can attack Trae if ever they switch.
I’d prefer Ben on John Collins, Ben can switch on Trae if they run a PnR with Collins and Trae.
Hawks weak links are Trae’s defense and their thin depth at C position.

There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.
