I'd probably buy the group a round.

And pull-tabs.

Ok I gotta bring up a story and get all your opinions on this.

A coworker/friend and a few others were at a bar doing happy hour. He comes back from the bathroom and hands each of us 2-3 pull tabs. I win $250. What do you feel is the best course of action:

A. Keep the money as he gave me the pull tab
B. Give him all the money back as it was technically his purchase
C. Split the money 50/50
D. Something else

I'll reveal what he did later.

Cut the pull tab in half, thus destroying it...or put all $250 back into pull tabs for everyone. Also highly depends on the type of friend you have there. I have some friends that would hold any action other than giving them the money against me forever, others that would never accept a penny of it because it was a gift. Putting it into a higher risk but high reward endeavor would probably be acceptable for most parties.

Get this, I offered to split it because I'm a decent guy. Even said I'll get the next round.

Bar couldn't pay us that day, so my coworker said he'd come back tomorrow and Venmo me. Only sent me $50. Now he ducks and hides whenever it gets brought up. He bought more the next day and won $100 more. I was shocked at how stingy this was.

You give me a pull tab, in theory it's now mine.

So a buddy of mine in the food industry mentioned a company called OLO. Said they are very well run, recently came out with an IPO, and then the stock before this week was trading somewhere around 28 until the last few weeks.

This company is a pretty big player in restaurant operations, I think with integrating small restaurants menus with door dash types or something like that (he told me, but I forgot). I bought a few shares, just to take the ride with him. It is not exciting or sexy, it isn't a meme, just seems like if it dips, it is a good company for a long term investment.

Nice! Snagged a couple shares at $38 and see where it goes. I jumped in on JOAN too. Figured they have a good niche market and their earnings have been solid. I got in at around $14/share and bought 5 shares to see where it goes.

Overall been doing well, up 20% since I started in Jan 2019. Much better than the 0.25% in savings. Understand can turn but so far, so good. Even when market was down I was still up 3-4% overall.

Did you guys buy FORD (F) when I mentioned it? You should have!

Also got in on Volkswagen at $23. It's $37.53 right now.

Even though most of the stuff I have in my portfolio is doing well, I have some stinkers. Plantir, Draft Kings and Aurora Cannabis all taking major L's for me right now. I'm still way up, but those ones are keeping me from getting a private jet.

I'm still amazed out how quickly the bottom of the industry tanked out when Bruce Linton left Canopy Growth. I ended up selling off Aurora after there was a short squeeze, basically got my money back plus a tiny bit extra. Just down to Canopy Growth now, but even they have touched 50 at least twice and dropped back into the low 20s.

Tough ride!

I have no idea what to expect, but let's take this ride together and see where she goes!! Joking aside, my buddy is pretty well connected in the industry, and was surprised he came to me out of the blue. He dabbles in stocks but this was the first time he was recommending getting into something.

Plus if it tanks, maybe we can hit him up for some free gift cards to soften the blow.

I feel like I need to add, this is not financial advice and he does not work for OLO or anything like that.

I bought some F lottos last Wednesday. $15 calls expiring today. Which printed handsomely.

I know Motley Fool is pumping Olo. It kind of reminds me of their Lemonade pump.

That's really the big thing for me. I've got some serious winners in CCI, CROX, F, MRO. But SPCE, ORTX, TLRY and CRBP are keeping me from retiring tomorrow.

My biggest regrets so far were selling off Plug Power and KOSS. I bought about 50 shares of each around $2/share and when got to $4, sold off as figured doubled up. Plug Power ended up getting to I think $70 and was still in $30 range. And KOSS was part of that GameStop craziness and got over $100/share for a short time. Hindsight 20/20 but a $200 investment could've been 6-8K.

If MF is pushing OLO, maybe it is time to get out. I've never made anything following their advice

i have two work friends who were just hired at olo, one who just left the company i work for and one who previously left. they were both extremely capable at their jobs.

thats my whole story. so 2 people out of the 1000's they may employ, are capable.

palantir is a long term hold, think my average is 12.35 but I plan on keeping that for years.

Ok I gotta bring up a story and get all your opinions on this.

A. Keep the money as he gave me the pull tab
B. Give him all the money back as it was technically his purchase
C. Split the money 50/50
D. Something else

I'll reveal what he did later.

I think the only acceptable answer is to put all $250 toward the group's tab that night and just let everyone drink on the two of you, IMO.

This is the right answer. The second someone starts throwing pull tabs on the table or in front of you they belong to the group.
