I’m not even sure Portland picks up at that offer. Murray is a PG who isn’t a playmaker and can’t shoot (great defender though). Doesn’t have anywhere near enough value to be the centerpiece of a trade for a superstar.

IMO Lakers need a shooting scoring combo guard like Nunn or Dragic.

You must plan on trading Herro right? :lol:

Exactly that what makes it so comical any rumor tying Dame to the Heat.

I mean it don’t think it’s completely out of the realm of possibility if we were to include Bam (which we definitely would if Dame was on the table). That being said, it’s still pretty unlikely we land him even if we were offering Bam.

Jimmy is not an explosive scorer by any means and if I'm taking the ball out of his hands, what does he bring at an elite level? Bam is still the best defender in the league for Giannis who remains a road block with or without Dame.

I hear ya and I totally agree. Would much rather keep Bam but in my opinion if Portland is trading Dame they are about the future and not the now. Jimmy is the not the future for Portland.

These nitpicking details are the bread & butter of the Heat FO. We're good at this. For now we need to keep the stupid arbitrary rules.

Sure our front office is good at it, but I lost track of the rules ages ago and it takes most of the fun out of the offseason for me.

Jimmy = 36
Bam = 28
Herro = 4
Precious 2.7
KZ = 1.7
Robinson cap hold = 4

Total = 76.5

Open cap space left for free agents = 35.5

Kawhi's max = 39

We can add Kawhi in free agency if Clippers implode and he wants to leave. It just means we'll let go of Herro/Duncan/Precious+KZ.

Then we can use BAE, MLE, etc.

We're all supporting Luka tonight.

You forgot someone.

Ryan Anderson $5.2 million :banghead:

And this ...

It’s less than that actually, still have to count roster charges if you renounce all other free agents except for Dunc.

We’re not getting Kawhi. We’re not getting Dame. Maybe Lowery or CP3, but lesser players will be more realistic.

moderate progress bish

i think he can be too spazzy for his own good. not too horrible like Kyle Kuzma spazzy but just a little bit.

simplify his offense a tad and put a little more emphasis on defense instead. i'm not expecting a breakout season or anything like that, but he could be more reliable consistently. I think that's a realistic goal

Consistency with his 3 point shot. He needs to step into Duncan's role, and anything beyond that is gravy next season. If he can do that it will be an upgrade because he has a better all around game than Duncan has.

Another thing I want to see is the death of any idea of PG Herro. That's not his thing and it just screws with what he can do.

We might. Depends how close Butler is with either two. Superstar movement nowadays is about player relationships. Dame would unlikely because there are 0 indications that he's close with Butler. But Kawhi I think is a possibility. Him and Butler know each other. How close are they ? Who knows. But I'm sure if Clips get bounced, Riley would be leaning on Butler to recruit Kawhi.

In the event kawhi goes to Miami... is there anyway heat could trade for PG too? I mean they would be a trash team and look to unload that money wouldn’t they?

It's technically possible. We could make the numbers work, and it would help them clean up their cap. But it would be highly unlikely. If Kawhi forces his way here the Clippers would be getting back nickels on the dollar. They would probably not want to compound that by getting pennies on the dollar for PG too. It's not as if PG flat sucks or anything. He's actually a very very good player. Borderline great. If he was on our team this past season he would have been our most talented player. It's just that his performance on the bigger stages doesn't match his salary.

I would love to have PG on the Heat. His contract not so much.

If Kawhi wanted an easy chip he would be on the Lakers right now. He had every opportunity to choose them over the Clippers. He fought tooth and nail to get back home to southern california. He basically can call any shot he wants with the Clippers franchise. Now all of a sudden we expect him to come to a team that just got swept because of Jimmy Butler? GTFO. Total hope trafficking.

Keep an eye on Dinwiddie. He'd be a good fit here.

Return to Miami Heat
