Playing for Thibs would take several seasons off the end of Lillard's career.

Exactly.

Let's chill with the talk until Kwahii says privately he wants to team up with Dame in NY. He's the first domino.

If that's what it takes, Imma pass on that. Melo trade II.

if Kawhi is coming with him...it would not be the Melo trade.

But yes, Dame on his own doesn't make us a contender. Need a 2nd piece.

RJ, Obi, Frank, Knox, both the 2021 picks would be ideal. Would want to hold on to Mitch and IQ.

And I echo, Kawhi is a must sign after a trade like this that wipes out our youth. This is a full blown win now situation.

Also would like to see us resign Bullock. He fits perfectly into the starting 5 as the 3/D glue guy.

Mitch/?
Randle/?
Bullock/?
Kawhi/IQ
Dame/Viladoza

My point is that we should be starting the discussion at Obi, IQ, 3 or 4 picks and a couple swaps. The notion we have to throw RJ, Mitch and lose every pick we own from now to 2030 is ludicrous.

Also FWIW Harden has a better track record of team success than Dame has...People like Dame more but I think if you polled most GM's they'd rather have Harden over Dame especially given the contract situations.

Exactly. Dame’s been out in the 1st round 4 of the last 5 years. I know he is clutch as hell and went crazy a couple of nights ago, but let’s pump the breaks. We shouldn’t trade for Dame more than what an MVP got

I hate arguments like this. I would say it lacks context but that’s clearly not it when you mention what harden was traded for. Lillard is a legit #1, who’s done it in the playoffs and regular season alike. It’s not his fault his organization hasn’t been able to put a better team around him. He’s clearly not the problem there. He’s beaten MVPs who had better squads too.

Price is way too high for a 31 yr old PG on the tail end of his prime. This is worse than the Melo trade, at least Melo was 26, and the assets we traded away weren't **** 20 years old.

Once again we're gonna rush a f*cking rebuild and positive direction of a team for an older star who will not make us a contender and we'll be left with no assets or young players in 2-3 years when Dame/Julius lead us to nothing and we have to start over..

Kawhi is a nonstarter though. He’s not leaving SoCal.

Again I think this is all tied to getting a 3rd piece to go with Dame and Julius if they do decide to make a move for Lillard

Folk are already doing the most to diminish what the Knicks accomplished this season. Knicks might still have work to do to prove this is a legit desirable destination

True but we gave them the narrative on a silver platter: An overachieving regular season team that got exposed in the playoff.

Maybe not but not many if any trios are. I rather have a punchers chance at a chip which we would with that then none at all. I’ll take my chances going all in with that group

You guys understand that at his age, you're trading the farm to go all in on next season. After that you'll have a declining "star"....
