“Brad Stevens, if you want to make your next move your best move,” he said, “you need to hire Sam Cassell.”

Well, if Cassell gets the job, we should hire Frodo Baggins as an assistant.

Seriously.

When you're fired and your team immediately takes off, that's likely not a great endorsement.

If it's not Cassell or Billups, or someone with similar pedigree, I'm going to be super disappointed. This team needs a guy that has done it at their level, and has respect around the league.

Both Cassell and Billups are still coaching. I'd be shocked if a decision is made before they even get interviews.

Cassell just makes way too much sense and thus has no chance at the job

Let me introduce you to 31to6.

He mentions Posey while brushing his teeth.

My prediction, Lawson with Pierce as lead assistant.

I would LOVE this but I doubt Kara leaves Duke, Lloyd Pierce as an assistant is great though

So I get the Duke thing, but like.....it’s for the opportunity to be the first female head coach in major American sports history. No recruits or players would hold anything against her for that.

It’s an INCREDIBLE opportunity.

I always liked Cassell as a player. High BBIQ and high energy. He seemingly has a great personality and clearly has loads of experience. I’m completely on board if he’s the choice

Doubt Chauncey gets the head coaching job just due to lack of coaching experience but wonder if he’d jump at the opportunity of being lead assistant if Sam Cassell is head coach?

I feel like Brad not having an experienced associate HC/top assistant these past few years have burned him. Just look at Nash basically surrounded by former HCs. Pierce too would be a good assistant if he wanted the job and could help guide the new HC

I'm thinking along similar lines, but Hammon, instead. Kara's resume is pretty thin yet.

Sounds good to me. Great job!

Now go find us a Kemba trade.
