PHILADELPHIA 76ERS
The Sixers should take as many swings as possible on knockdown shooting guards. Tyrese Maxey could turn into that kind of player, but choosing Butler would bring in a rookie with ready-made skills.

Wow, what an insane mock draft. Cam Thomas over Moody? Crazy.

Disagree with the Ringer's sentiment. Swinging for knockdown shooters ain't the move the make. Swinging for guys with dribble penetration and scoring upside is the move to make. Also, size is preferable.

6'5" 215 pound David Johnson of Louisville is the pick to make IMO. Excellent slasher with passing + shooting upside.

Or the 6'5" 215 Josh Christopher for the combination of defense + shooting and shotcreation upside.

No clue whomst this is, but pass from a pure metrics bbref scouting standpoint. Steal and block rate suck, free throw rate non-existent. No playmaking. Trash shooting splits.

He's a bad defender, no doubt.

What you mean no playmaking?

Josh Christopher is a great shout for a pick as late as ours will be. Like taking a flyer on KPJ was.

He has a career 25.5% assist rate and scores at all three levels.

What's up with Tre Mann falling in all these recent mocks?

If he's available in the 20's, I'm all for seeing if teams want Shake plus a pick swap to go get him.

Tre Mann is arguably the best scorer in this draft.

Mann and Maxey and, all the sudden, we're compiling some ultra-talented creators.

Players have until July 19th to withdraw and the draft is on July 29th.

I don't feel like going through all these prospects....I wish we had a list set in stone.

Jaden Shackelford is sneaking onto my desired list.

Jared Butler at 28? And Filip Petrusev with our second rounder if we don’t trade these two I’ll
be pleased with the outcome. (I think the first rounder this year is all but gone going for the big fish (Lillard).

If Moody falls to 15, can we please trade up? I'm just looking at the Ringer Mock Draft again and simply cannot believe it.

Joel Ayayi, Chris Duarte, or Nah'shon Hyland with our pick.

Quentin Grimes with the NYK pick.
2023-2024 Philadelphia 76ers:

Lowry/Melton/Payne
Maxey/Hield/Downtin
Oubre/Batum/Council
Harris/Covington/Martin
Embiid/Reed/Bamba

I gotta admit, I don't see what you see in Moody. I think he's pretty deficient as a creator and I don't think he makes enough plays defensively. Just feels like a shooting-reliant players with subpar creation and defense. Not too unlike a Shake Milton type player.

It's such bs that the league found out about Davion Mitchell and have him slated in the lotto. He was supposed to be our steal of the draft at the end of round 1.

Kobble favorite Dru Smith should be serious consideration with our pick at the end of round 1, even though he's old af.

He shot threes this year (1.8 makes per game), making him a nearly perfect player with no holes.

Elite defense, elite shotcreating, shooting threes, good passing, great kid with a professional approach.

Only knock is he'll be 24 in December

He's a legit 3&D player who has the ability to take guys off the dribble and draw fouls at an elite rate as a freshman. One of the best shooters in this draft. Seems to have very plus length and if the Ringer's height is true (6'8), then he's obviously a top 10 pick. I did some stat markers that put him in elite company:

OBPM > 5, DBPM > 2, FTA per game > 4, FT% > 80

Monk
Coby White
Cade Cunningham
SGA
Booker
Kyrie
KAT
Herro

Are just some names. He also did this in a COVID season on a mediocre Arkansas team.

He obviously has some red flags (STL%, AST%), but I feel pretty confident he would fit exceptionally well here.
