yeah watch him shoot a career low with us that just wont surprise me. Then we will be talking about how to unload this albatross.

His 3pt shooting is otherworldly when it's falling... But like was saw in the first round, when it isn't, he's pretty marginal. And he relies a lot on athleticism when his shot isn't falling. Which is bound to start going away soon...
Dame for the next couple years would be amazing, but if we're looking for a guy to pair with AD beyond LeBron's retirement, he aint it...
Same issue with Lowry, only maybe worse...

What team would want Schroder for any substantial money?
He showed his ass this postseason.

Short Answer - any dumbass team like the Hornets, Kings could fall in love with his hair and offer him the bag. Only takes 1 idiot to do idiotic things.
S&T isn't a great option, cos of the hard cap again, we don't really have much to say in what we're getting in return. We'll probably need to keep him till close to the deadline to trade him. Prolly gonna have to attach picks to get rid of him too.
Pelinka probably takes care of this in a super early meeting with Dennis and his reps.
- Offer him a tradable 15-18m contract(1/2+1 team option) with a take it or leave it NOW condition.
- Inform him that his decision either way(extension or Thank You, Goodbye) is going public before he leaves the building. That takes away this little rat's leverage and value across the league, once they know Lakers let him walk for nothing. He's probably not even getting an offer worth 10-12m in the open market after this season. Lonzo, Rossier, CP3(maybe), Lowry, Conley, Rivers, Reggie Jackson, Cam Payne(all had better seasons than him) also FAs this off season, where out of maybe 6-8 teams who have cap space, only 1-2 might need a PG. And none of them need a bench PG who costs that much.
- If he doesn't sign, be ready to announce TJ McConnel(poor scorer with similar shooting splits as Dennis, but a high IQ assist guy and a kickass defender) + Jordan McLaughlin(two way guy for Wolves - 10-8a-4r-2stl per 36 mins 48.5% fg & 36% 3fg. Excellent P&R guy and intelligent athletic defender(2 stls)). I'd move Caruso to the starter spot and shuffle THT & these guys around to find what sticks through the season. Really think some consistent playing time with Lebron + AD will be a huge step in their development.

Eric Bieniemy wrote:Good post here. What about Rose though? Don't the Lakers have another MLE? that first option you gave of signing Schroder to 15 mill just to trade him sounds like a very bad idea. The book is out on him. He will always be chasing the last season he had in OKC. He will never be better than that, and he may never match it again.

I mean, they're both around the same age right. Pick and Roll b/w Dlo and AD would be lethal. Having a guy like KCP to guard other team's better guards will help hide dlo's so so defense at best when he tries.
