2021 NBA Draft Thread

Post#1 » by DayofMourning » Wed Jun 2, 2021 8:57 pm

We don't have a pick this year as OKC owns our first rounder and Atlanta owns our second rounder.

However, if you're a fan of the draft, there's still plenty to talk about.

The NBA Draft lottery is June 22nd at 830 PM on ESPN.

The NBA Draft will be held July 29th.

Always have an interest in the Draft, even moreso when we have a FRP...which is few and far between sadly.

I'll do some deep diving into the talent pool and see who intruiges!

go international, there's no other option for the heat on this draft. they could always buy a draft pick but that's a long shot from that happening this year.

Usually when we don’t pick I have A little hope we trade up. I have a weird feeling we’re just gonna straight pass on this

Here's an oldie but goodie. This guy has been prospectively mocked for a few years now.

My heart just not in it when we don't have a pick.

Also IMO this draft isn't as historic as some believed, sure some good players but don't see multipole franchises players.

Do hope we get into the second round and get a steal.

I wish we could trade with the team that drafted Alperen Şengün. He is only 18 years old, but he broke many records in Europe. He has a high offensive potential and his defensive stats are also good. If they play together, after 2 years they could be the best big guys in the league. (Şengün-Bam)

BJ Boston. Now that kid should've gone to the G League. His stock crashed big time.

The Heat appear to not respect the second round pick. They feel like undrafted free agents are just as good.

They've never been fully committed to the draft. They have done well when drafting in the lottery though.

If my memory serves me, they have had 6 lottery picks in the past 20 years. Half of those were Allstars. Beasley was a Supreme talent with mental issues. Winslow was a very good all around talent with health issues. Herro is to be determined. I feel pretty good about that record tbh.

Yep, our strike rate in the lotto is very good.

Caron Butler - All-Star forward
Dwyane Wade - Hall of Famer
Bam Adebayo - All-Star big

Justise Winslow - sadly currently derailed
Michael Beasley - productive but problematic
Tyler Herro - keeping the faith. Maybe not All-Star level, but hopefully goes close

Who are realistic guys we could target in the 2nd round that could help us?

I thin 1st round will be a stretch for us to get involved, so that's why I'll focus on 2nd.
