It'll be really interesting to see what contracts guys get this summer. Reggie resigned on a minimum deal with them last year, but this year he ended up beating Patrick Beverly out of the playoff rotation.
Reggie Jackson 3 years at MLE money?
Andre Drummond 2 years at MLE money?
Bruce Brown 3 years at MLE money?
Blake Griffen 1/2 MLE? He's shown more athleticism and ability with Brroklyn than he did for a long time in Detroit. Maybe he just goes back to LA or stays in Brooklyn for the vet min but he did give up some money to get out of Detroit.
Derrick Rose. $12 million per year to stay in NY? He was their only reliable scoring option in the playoffs.

Boban is important for Dallas as well.

More than Knocked out, now that he played for the Lakers a lot of people watched him play, and now they know he's not as good as they tought he was looking at his numbers.
The 2 ex pistons I like the most are Bruce Brown and Boban. Tobias was a likeable guy as well, but he was a mental midget here, despite of being super talented and a hard worker.

It’s something to think how many millions he’s lost. I really thought he’d get a decent 3 year contract and now I think he’s looking at a one year prove it contract.

Aka the Demarcus Cousins or Hibbert special deal. Both those guys peaked before ever turning 30
It's funny how we're in a simultaneously in a flux of bad centers and good ones in this era

He’s playing his *** off though.
Its kinda annoying, but I don’t blame him. He’s in the role he should be in rather than a number 1 guy here.

Re: Around the League
Yeah, I got no beef with the guy. The Red Wings practically innovated the current superstar model, with big names taking pay cuts to come to a team that was already setting regular season records. I can't really fault a guy for wanting to win at the end of his career.
If he was a jackass and a guy I disliked anyway, then yeah it would rub me wrong. But I think this is a pretty far cry from "the decision" and Durant joining the Dubs. If he chased the money to go play on a lottery team he'd just get blasted for being all about the money. Sometimes these guys can't win in the public eye.

He was also wildly aggressive with our rooks and taunted the bench every time he scored against us on his first game back as a Net. He really is annoying in all regards

Blake should be booed every game he plays in Detroit for the rest of his career honestly.

Re: Around the League
Blake has always been a jerk. I don't think anything he's doing now is any different from his personality of the past. That said, I think Pistons fans do have one legitimate beef: he never played this hard. Yeah, he's way better suited for the fifth best player on the team, but the Pistons are fitting the bill, and this was not on his agenda in Detroit.
I mostly don't care though. I'm delighted he's no longer with the Pistons after so many wretched games where I had to simply stop w watching or knew better than to log in.

Underlined part is simply not true.
In 2018-19 Blake made the all star team & All NBA team, and it was arguably the best season of his career from an individual standpoint....
I honestly don't get the Blake hate. Basically nobody wanted him here anymore, and he agreed to save Detroit almost 25% of the money he was owed on his contract.
As for his reaction when playing Detroit earlier this season, players always get amped up when playing their former teams. And like I stated at the time, I have no idea what was going on behind the scenes during the weeks leading up to his departure. I know all of us like to think that everybody stays classy in such situations, but that is not always the case. For all I know they didn't treat Blake well during that time.
Regardless, I personally hold no ill will for the guy. Its not like he has publicly trashed the franchise or fan base. Actually, I for one am happy for him that his body is holding up and he's playing well.

I honestly don't understand people saying he's always been a jerk. That has never been my perception. Am I missing something?

He was always pretty antagonistic to opponents had has that obnoxious smirk.
He played hard in 18-19. Was always going to the lane despite getting pretty banged up all the time. He was pretty professional too. But he was kind of a jerk. He was just our jerk for a while.
And now he's not. And he's playing harder than he did in his last couple years here. And he got Beef Stew ejected and smirked about it afterwards.
So I get the hate. I feel some of it too.

Re: Around the League
Not sure why people are getting bent out of shape about Blake ramping up his intensity and energy in the playoffs. That's kind of what you are supposed to do. During this latest game specifically, the Nets needed a lift after Harden left the game less than 1 minute into the game, and Blake provided that for them.
I know we all like to think that these guys should go 100 at all times, but that's not a reality. The going to work era Pistons were notorious for cruising for periods of time, then "flipping the switch" when it was necessary, most especially during the playoffs.
In any event, as I mentioned earlier Blake isn't rubbing me the wrong way at all personally. I guess its just a matter of differences in what bothers us on an individual basis.
For me Lebron's actions in this playoffs were pure crybaby moves and shows he has ZERO class in defeat. Lebron leaving the court with 5+ minutes remaining in a blowout loss was a terribly unclassy move. Then he was even more unsportsmanlike when the Lakers got eliminated when he walked straight off the floor immediately after the clock went to 0 without congratulating or even acknowledging anybody with the Suns.
So to each their own.
