The notion that missing your top 2 players who are both top 10 in the league is insignificant because *Andre Drummond* has entered the building...

POY voting aside, because that takes other things into account, and guys like LeBron, AD, Durant, Harden, Kawhi, and Embiid all missed significant time due to injury, but I feel like Dame is getting a TAD overrated...I have him 5th on my ballot purely because of injuries. But J-Will just said he would take Dame over AD in general, and some talk shows were saying Dame is easily a top 5 player in the league, and Wilbon said Dame, Curry, Luka, and LeBron are his top 4 most exciting to watch (not necessarily his ranking of players, but the context of the conversation did make it seem like those were his top 4 players in general also).

But let's be real, everyone healthy, nobody should take Dame over LeBron, Davis, Durant, Harden, Curry, Jokic, Luka, Kawhi, Embiid, or Giannis. He's a great player, but kind of like the Drew Brees of the NBA...a superstar for many, many years, with some incredible seasons, but was (clearly) never actually in discussion for best in the league and was never actually a strong MVP candidate. I think he's closer to guys like Trae and Tatum and Mitchell and Booker than he is the aforementioned ones tbh.

I would take Dame over AD. Not the rest of those names, but I would AD. AD is a very talented player and he was great in the playoffs last year, but I'm just not buying him elevating a team without Lebron more than Dame and I'd honestly expect less.

And its funny you mention Mitchell because I think he is getting badly overrated just as Murray was pre-injury. He's just the scorer for a team that is about Gobert first and a bunch of smart veterans who all really know how to play and who play at both ends. He gets a lot of hype for stuff that isn't really about him. Just as AD got a big Laker bump like all that absurd talk about him being DPOY last year. He was great defensively in the playoffs but in the regular season a relative bunch of players were clearly better.

Mavericks
Suns
Nuggets
Bucks
Jazz
Sixers
Hawks
Clippers
Nets

Suns would’ve been first for me before the playoffs but man Crowder really annoyed me during the Lakers series and I’m petty like that. I’m also not a huge fan of Booker despite recognizing how good of a player he obviously is. Them being so high is almost entirely because I want to see CP3 get a ring.

AD to me though is like Durant, on his own, it won't be too impressive, but start adding talent around him, and there's not much of a drop-off in terms of his individual play, and he basically just keeps being additive.

I have criticisms of AD too, but at minimum, he's a defensive force with basically no weakness on that end of the floor, and offensively, he's got great hands, is a great finisher, and is a very good jump shooter. He's like the perfect modern big, like a new age KG.

Lillard is a big time scorer, but I mean, as a small guard, he's either bad or average at everything else (he's not a great passer I don't think, and his defense is poor).

I think it's fair to knock AD down a peg compared to other top 5 talents, but Lillard isn't up there with him imo. Lillard is a scoring guard with incredible shot making ability...but how much better is he than say, Kyrie or Trae, for example? I mean, that applies to them too. I wouldn't dream of putting them up there with Davis, and Lillard is more on that level than say, Steph Curry, imo.

The Clippers want no part of this game and it's already obvious. Again, congrats to Mavs fans.

If his name was LeBron, the haters would be having a field day right now calling him a "quitter" for a performance like this. It's pathetic.

Strong 2nd quarter from Kawhi.

Now if only PG would wake up and quit it with the ridiculous turnovers.

I've never been more confused about how the Clippers have a lead at halftime, because we look terrible.

i remember being pleasantly surprised as a okc fan when i realized that shai has nearly the same production as donovan but in much higher efficiency all around despite the spacing advantage of utah over oklahoma

mitchell is good but what he provides can be replaced by like 10+ guards in the league

My cheap ass doesn't have ESPN and can't find a stream so I'm over here listening to this game on the radio like it's 1985.

Kawhi has been great, but PG sucks. They still can win this game, because Luka isn't having a good night so far.

Kawhi's totally flipped the script for sure. Couldn't believe how passive he was to start the game, now he's the only one doing anything tonight.

I'm so done with Playoff P, it's not even funny. We'd literally have a better chance if he was just benched for the rest of the series. Too bad Ty "Doc 2.0" Lue doesn't have the balls to do it.

Lue screaming at RJax... you run some risk when you sign players with a mediocre history. RJax having such a big role for the Clippers O scares me a bit.
