Wouldn't surprise me one bit if she outright declines to interview.

Perhaps. But I think if she explained to her recruits that she has a chance to make history, they would understand and might actually encourage the move.

100%.

What women's NCAA player would not want to say that they were recruited by a current NBA head coach? They could transfer, or stay and play for the next qualified coach that they hire.

Having a relationship with a current NBA head coach is also one hell of a positive for your network, which all of her players are 100% thinking about as well.

I’ll be a bit salty if we want Chauncey and don’t get him.

Kidd beat his wife and played for a key rival. His coaching record isn’t anything special. why would we want him again?

Kidd will be remembered as the ciach who destroyed Giannis jumpshot and shooting motion.
Those who are interested can find on YouTube videos from the rookie season of Giannis under a different coach. His shooting motion was fluid.
Then Kidd took over. He forbid him to shoot. And he broke him.
Watching Giannis shooting as a 19 year old and watching Giannis after Kidd, is like watching another player shooting.
I can't imagine what Kidd will do with our youngsters.

I love Dame, i want him to succeed. But if he has decided that he doesn't want to compete in the near future then Kidd is the right choice.
And if that keeps Kidd away from Boston, i'm glad.

What is the NBA rule about interviewing assistants whose teams are still in the playoffs?

Also, what is a jobber? Ham and eggs doesn't do it for me.

To interview someone under contract with another team you generally have to get permission from that team. And most teams aren't trying to have their coaching staff interview for other jobs during a playoff series.

A jobber is just a run-of-the-mill 9-to-5 worker, basically.

I’m liking Udoka, Lawson and Hammon.. would love to hear anything about why Lloyd Pierce is still so respected when McMillan got the same roster to play so much better.

Im not pulling for Pierce to get the job but he got a raw deal. Dealt with a huge slew of injuries that basically resolved itself right after he got canned. The injuries made it look a LOT worse than it was.

This piece also brings up the issue that Pierce was giving a young team a lot of freedom (to screw up) and that they’ve done better because McMillan has provided more structure:

 Sam Cassell is the only one I want. He’s won here and is a competitor that hates to lose.

As a rookie coach, it will also provide ownership and Brad that built in excuse of “growing pains” to keep the high expectations off our fan base.

He just checks all the boxes and I’m sticking to that’s who we are waiting for.

And NO I’m not really Perkins....although he is spot on here. Cassell is IMO is the “Best available”.
