Re: Harden injury thread
No news that I am aware of yet. We obviously don't know the severity of the injury, but if there is no risk of further damage, and the regular season is any indication, I would not be surprised if Harden tries to come back after missing only a couple of games. I don't think the staff will let him even think about suiting up until the Bucks win 2 games. Ideally, that would be game 5 or later/never.
If, as most believe, this will be the toughest matchup of the playoffs, you can't worry about getting him right for subsequent rounds. You need to do whatever you can do to make it out of this round.

This is a really good take on the situation.

Re: Harden injury thread
Obviously need to wait for the MRI results to come back but based off KD and the team's press conferences I think we are all getting ready to finish this season (at the very least this series) out without James.
I know our medical staff won't do anything to rush James back before he's 100% ready, no matter what happens it's bigger than just this one season. I'll back the guys we've got out there anyway, we aren't outmatched against anybody left in the playoffs. Just gotta grit it out and execute (and needless to say stay healthy)

No disrespect intended my friend, but that sounds like Lakers fans after AD came up lame.
The rest of the basketball world knew they were toast, but they remained in denial till the bitter end.
Bottom line, James may or may not have been our best player this year. You can argue for KD or Kyrie, but we all know Harden was our most important player this year, the straw that stirred the drink.

Expected, but now official.
Curious they're calling it tightness and not a strain though.

Re: Harden injury thread
The thing about hammy injuries is they can linger and linger. If he tweaked it and it isn’t anything serious, I still don’t see how/why the team would want to put him out there to risk further setbacks regarding his hammy.
OKC Thunder fan, too.

Re: Harden injury thread
What happened previously:

If it is true that Harden has tightness and not strain (I think there's a solid possibility of Nets downplaying this publicly to keep chances of his return open in this series), then it's much better than a strain. If it is possible to get through this series without Harden, and we don't have to bring Harden back early, it's very helpful.

This is a massive W all things considered. Sounds like he could return later this series at some point depending on a number of factors.

Sounds like couple week rest before they going to reevaluate him. There's going to be a lot of Mike James this series.

I think we’re going to see Harden as soon as game 3 or more likely game 4. There’s a reason they only ruled him out for game 2 to date. There are 2 days each between games 2 to 3 along with 3 to 4. I would anticipate the series score will have an impact, going up 2-0 would be huge.

Really glad it's only a hamstring tightness. You guys should feel fortunate.

None taken, but I wouldn't equate a past prime LeBron with KD + Kyrie. The Lakers without AD are awful, they went down 30 by halftime in 2 straight games. Did that even happen once for us this season ?
LeBron with role players is not a playoff team in the West as we saw in the 2019 season. Give me KD and Kyrie with our role players and we can give any team trouble especially with the amount of shooting
And more importantly, Great news on Harden. Should give the team a lift

Re: Harden injury thread
him getting hurt in the first 30 seconds was really the worst case scenario, just going to have manage it, thankfully we have untapped potential on our roster with other players

Re: Harden injury thread
This is coach speak, keep the opposition on their toes stuff, we won’t see him again til the Finals in all likelihood, if at all this season, but we can still win it all this year. Feel really bad for him regardless, you know he is just foaming at the mouth to put his mark on this run and bad luck struck him in the chest.
Much prefer they’re cautious with him though, dude is the absolute #1 key to us being a 3+ year dynasty.

Re: Harden injury thread
So far it sounds like good news. I’m sure they will rehab him until bucks win 2 games. We need to win this next one in a bad way it just feels like a major swing game.
