Started listening to "The West Wing Thing" podcast while starting a rewatch of The West Wing. I lasted 4 episodes of the show and the podcast totally hooked me.

I hadn't watched TWW since it was on originally, but holy cow the misogyny and elitism on that show are just such a turnoff.

I saw it with my wife the other day and that happens in the first 10 minutes of the movie, but there’s a lot more going on and it’s not really her “origin” so to speak. The movie is also clearly not a prequel to the animated movie or live action 101 Dalmatians either.

Paul Walter Hauser was phenomenal in it. Both Emma’s did a fantastic job. The biggest problem with it is the runtime. It’s just too long. It’s a fun movie with a great soundtrack. I’d probably give it a 7/10. I was pleasantly surprised.

Jamie Kennedy (yes, it’s 2021 and I’m talking about Jamie Kennedy) has been posting some great videos on YouTube detailing some of the behind the curtains moments of his career that are absolutely fascinating.

Watching Birds of Prey (Harley Quin spin off) again with the wife. It’s a shame this movie flopped at the box office. It’s the best DC film by far in this universe.

Ewan Mcgregor was awesome in that and Doctor Sleep and I think they both underwhelmed at the Box Office.

I really liked the latest Conjuring movie. It’s a bit of a horror/mystery combo that works pretty well. I think fans of the series will be underwhelmed scare wise, but I actually liked the direction it took and thought the performances of the core four in the movie were pretty good.

So I started Counterpart on Prime and it looks like the show was cancelled after season 2.

Awesome

I liked the first season. Love me some Bill Crudup, uh, hammin' it up.

Man that Bo Burnham special was incredible. So meticulous in every phase of production. Is the rest of his stuff anywhere near as good as that?

This is like the 8th best bit on the special. Ridiculous.

Finished up Hacks last night. I really liked the show but...

Spoiler:
I sincerely hope the show doesn't turn into a recurring bit with Ava doing something drunk or angry that she regrets and then tries to cover up the next day
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

I was waiting for someone to post something about this; I just watched it. If this is the kind of art I can experience post-pandemic then sign me up 100%. The social commentary, self-awareness, comedy, all of it felt oddly comforting and creatively inspiring. Ranged from goofy and weird (the good kind) to thoughtful and grounded. I can't recommend it enough.

I've watched 13 of the 20. From what I understand it wraps up well. I'm enjoying it
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
