The vote was close even ignoring the grade scale Monty got 96 COY and Thibs got 95. The scale tipped it to Thibs but it was close regardless.

It feels a bit anti-climactic if I'm being honest...
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

On the other hand if you only count 1st and 2nd place votes Thibs got 85 and Monty 77. Monty got more 3rd place votes but who cares really. Hail to the chief

True, no matter how you play the math it was close and Thibs won it.

Thibs took a team expected to win 22 games to the 4th seed despite the constant screams by fans to do some nonsense. And then just to let everyone know he knows what he's doing, he made the change the fans wanted all year and watched them get blown out in 3 straight games.

Well deserved. He dragged this team and franchise from the filthiest outhouse to an outhouse with a fancy sink and toilet. It can only go up from here (I hope).

Thankfully, the playoffs don't count towards the award! Well deserved in any case, he really squeezed every last drop out of this roster.

Another reason why these awards should come out after the playoffs.

That adjustment, along with benching the Clippers' lilliputians, won him the series.

I'm still waiting for Thibs to play Randle at the 5. Oh no, wait, the series is over.

Yes. So the Knicks can look as awesome as the Bucks, but only less so, since the Knicks have less talent and Randle isn't as good as Giannis. Sounds like a plan.

I don't think Thibs is a top 10 coach in the League but damn, 4th in the East with these scrubs? Totally deserved. Sorry but Randle and RJ are not even close to CP3, Booker, Ayton and even Bridges. Right now I'm taking Bridges over Julius and RJ, don't even wanna speak about the other 3.

Phoenix are like the most talented young team in the league, besides Denver, if we count Nuggets are young still. Monty is a solid 2nd place, but Thibs made some miracles happen with them scrubs.

I don’t think there are that many coaches better Thibs other than Spoelstra, Carlisle, Kerr, Pop and Stevens (who isn’t even coaching anymore). Thibs is in that next tier with Bud, Monty, Rivers, Vogel, etc and I think Thibs is better than all of them,

Chris Paul should have been 3rd place in COY
