great. all we got to do is keep capspace open until the next mercurial 2nd greatest basketball player of his era and his friends decide to team up together.

No.

For starters, change the team's culture and the organization's reputation around the league so the Knicks become an attractive destination for FA's and disgruntled stars...NY is an attractive city

Second. The league doesn't help the Knicks when they tank. Knicks had pre-lottery positioning of #1, and #2 in two of the past six drafts. They fell 2 positions in each of those drafts and walked away with K.P and Barrett.

Third. Draft better and develop better. Drafting Knox over Porter, Bridges, SGA was unacceptable.

We drafted KP the same year the Suns drafted Superstar Devin Booker with the 13th pick.

Man, seeing so many great 2-way players blossom who were drafted right after our picks in the last decade or so is tough to swallow. That’s why drafting is so important.

Mikal was my guy. As was Haliburton. SGA and DMitch were also guys we should have looked harder at. Man what a terrible front office we’ve had.

When Haliburton was still on the board and the Knicks didn't get him, I was absolutely shocked. I thought the pre-draft Obi interest was a smokescreen.

Steve MF Mills single-handedly ruined Knicks over 2 decades and still going strong with Knox pick.

I never imagined the Nets would be playing this good, and the Bucks this bad. How disappointing all around.

I was frustrated that the Knicks lost, but I completely understood it was probable (I picked the Hawks in 6) and wasn't really broken up about it. The only part that really stuck with me negatively was just how much of an egg they laid. They didn't just lose, they played laughably below even base level expectations.

For the Bucks to do this as an elite team and viable championship contender is a billion times worse. This isn't just the Nets being better, this is Milwaukee showing that they have no chance at anything meaningful, regardless of how easy their path may be in the future. Unless there's some complete turnaround when they get home, this is a death knell level performance; you don't come back from this - even if your multi-MVP centerpiece is just 26 years old. It's that bad. Wow.

Me after seeing that the bucks are down bad, too.

 Yeah, well Simmons has taken those shots and missed them. Mitch hasn't even been allowed to take one.

Actually, this is a way around the current algorithm. But what I posted above - the dreaded F word - will work every time and they can't block it. I suppose the current state of algorithms is still like the current state of El Fraud.

But wait, I just tried **** mofos and it got blocked. Is there a formula to this?

There are so many oportunities that the Knicks blew when it comes to drafting, there might even be a chance they could screw up the top pick. Its scary when you think about it. The knicks picked Rowan at 3 and he is as raw as a freshly caught fish. KP is raw as hell too.

there were so many options too...Shai, MPJ, Mikal...we couldn't go wrong...but yet...

Knox goes undrafted in a redraft. We picked the absolute worst player

while I agree that knox is a bust for his draft position (of course) and that we should have picked other players (of course), I don't think it is completely on him. we do everything to **** up these young dudes.
his second season sucked, but he made progress this year and he was nowhere near unplayable. But because we strike out on big FA we always sign waaay too many one year vets and don't have playing time for the "projects".

so, sure he didn't play well so far, but he couldn't be in a worse situation.

Exactly. This team has been bad enough long enough to have talented players from the draft by now. We just make awful draft choices with the picks we have

Yea, he will probably resign with Phoenix before free agency even starts to get a few more years. Its a perfect spot for him.

As much as I like Chris Paul for this team, it would've been perfect this year, not next year when he's going to start breaking down after signing him to a 3 year contract.

Knicks getting smoked like a cheap cigar in the playoffs mean the culture building was for nothing.

Now the narrative is that Thibs sucks as a coach as he's too offensively old fashioned, Randle isn't it, and the Knicks lack talent.

It's what the national sports media has started pumping and will pump all summer and into the fall.

And you'd think that maybe athletes in the game would know better, but I think a lot of them consume ESPN in the same stupid way regular people do.

Oh well.

Here's to another 20 years of mediocrity.

Honestly, who would really want to play with Randle and RJ period?

Randle is like Marbury Giannis - dominating the ball to ill effect and RJ is a robotic SG who struggles to create his own shot. Setting aside the fact that he's 20, he's got to be among the worst starting SGs in the league. Certainly one you have to question building around, when shot creation off the dribble and shooting are what it's all about, and RJ is a spot up shooter who struggles to create.

The only way I'm interested in Chris Paul is if he opts out of a one year for a two year.

Even then, his kneecaps will probably eject themselves from his body the moment he signs a Knick contract. If so, at least it's only 2 years of wrecking the cap, instead of 3.
