Giannis still has hard feelings about how the Knicks treated his less talented brother that we drafted.

In that case, Giannis is out. 34 Year old immobile Anthony Davis it is. And the media will talk about how he reinvented his game after losing all of his athleticism to lead us to a 5 game regular season win streak.

Knox goes undrafted in a redraft. We picked the absolute worst player

while I agree that knox is a bust for his draft position (of course) and that we should have picked other players (of course), I don't think it is completely on him. we do everything to **** up these young dudes.
his second season sucked, but he made progress this year and he was nowhere near unplayable. But because we strike out on big FA we always sign waaay too many one year vets and don't have playing time for the "projects".

so, sure he didn't play well so far, but he couldn't be in a worse situation.

Yea, he will probably resign with Phoenix before free agency even starts to get a few more years. Its a perfect spot for him.

Honestly, who would really want to play with Randle and RJ period?

Randle is like Marbury Giannis - dominating the ball to ill effect and RJ is a robotic SG who struggles to create his own shot. Setting aside the fact that he's 20, he's got to be among the worst starting SGs in the league. Certainly one you have to question building around, when shot creation off the dribble and shooting are what it's all about, and RJ is a spot up shooter who struggles to create.

Who knows? But if everyone sucks and we still made it to the playoffs as a 4th seed, then that might be attractive to free agents.

The NBA is weird. I don't know what these guys think or why, anymore.

As much as I like Chris Paul for this team, it would've been perfect this year, not next year when he's going to start breaking down after signing him to a 3 year contract.

The only way I'm interested in Chris Paul is if he opts out of a one year for a two year.

Even then, his kneecaps will probably eject themselves from his body the moment he signs a Knick contract. If so, at least it's only 2 years of wrecking the cap, instead of 3.

suns are paying paul anyway so he's not coming. once they got out of the 1st round he got his money,

Rose needs to move Knox for a future 2nd rounder while Knox still retains that value. Otherwise they'll recoup nothing before Knox goes on to face off against Renaldo Balkman in the Philippines.

Knicks getting smoked like a cheap cigar in the playoffs mean the culture building was for nothing.

Now the narrative is that Thibs sucks as a coach as he's too offensively old fashioned, Randle isn't it, and the Knicks lack talent.

It's what the national sports media has started pumping and will pump all summer and into the fall.

And you'd think that maybe athletes in the game would know better, but I think a lot of them consume ESPN in the same stupid way regular people do.

The Knicks best hope is for the Hawks to beat the 76ers in 5 games. Then the narrative will all be about Trae being a stud and so good that even Randle and Embiid-led teams couldn't stop him, and the fact that Nate will have comprehensively outcoached Thibs and Doc Rivers will be ignored.

Basically this... I think the Magic have a better shot of landing a franchise player than we do. At least they're taking a route that once in a while works... This FO just wants to "compete," whatever the hell that means.

The media will praise the talentless Knicks core next season for being "blue collar.." Julius' 20MM + per and impending extension raise is SUPER blue collar.

What if the Knicks sign Lonzo to play SF instead of Bullocks?

I get that that means 13 million more to play the Bullocks+ role, but it would mean more talent.

Obviously, they'd still need a PG/wing who can actually dribble his own way to the hoop and score and all that.
