I gotta admit, I don't see what you see in Moody. I think he's pretty deficient as a creator and I don't think he makes enough plays defensively. Just feels like a shooting-reliant players with subpar creation and defense. Not too unlike a Shake Milton type player.

He's a legit 3&D player who has the ability to take guys off the dribble and draw fouls at an elite rate as a freshman. One of the best shooters in this draft. Seems to have very plus length and if the Ringer's height is true (6'8), then he's obviously a top 10 pick. I did some stat markers that put him in elite company:

OBPM < 5, DBPM < 2, FTA per game < 4, FT% > 80

Why are these a good thing

Brought him up before, but if we want a Dario Saric in the second round, Mamukelashvili is that bargain. You don't get 6'11 guys who can pass and handle the ball like this normally. Dude has confidence.

Another versatile PF but one that can play defense. Dense stretch 4 who will essentially be a pick and pop, but also has excellent vision.

Feels like another Aaron Henry: an elite roleplayer who was asked to lead his team as a scorer and anchor the defense. Both guys will carve out roles in the next level.

Tre Mann 20
James Bouknight 21
Chris Duarte 22
Usman Garuba at 24
Greg Brown at 26
Jared Butler at 28

Yeah the Ringer is smoking something fierce in their office lol. How in the world is Mann and Bouknight at 20/21? Bouknight is one of the best scorers in the draft and pops athletically.

Also Christopher, Prkacin and Petrusev not top 30 is value town.

Greg Brown is a very interesting prospect, if he goes to a great developmental system could be a very very nice player down the road. Has got elite tools to work with and his athleticism is A+ tier.

I legit would take Tre Mann in the top 3. I think he's that special of a scorer.

Are you concerned at all about his lack of verticality and size? That’s the only knock I have on him.

He’s super super polished and his learning/improvement skills must be A class. That kind of polish takes considerable amount of serious honed in and very particular practice in just a year. Tells me he has a great head on his shoulders. Youngins don’t really do that year 1 to year 2 that quickly and that precisely pre NBA.

His finishing package though is not quite Shai’s level in college (dude was the worse kept secret pre draft on the draft forum section still got overlooked somehow obv) but it’s great for his size he has this extraordinary floating ability. Like he can barely dunk but he can hang in the air for ages makes no sense at all lol.

Honestly, I haven't put much stock into athleticism in years. I've just seen too many subpar-to-average athletes come into the NBA and dominate. That 2018 draft had Shai, Luka and Trae, alone. All weak ass athletes who came into the NBA and are already stars, respectively.

Skill level is the premium trait, IMO. And I think Tre Mann's skill level is off the charts. I liken him a lot to Coby White coming out.

its all about having a quick first step and some handle.

Shake for example doesn't have the first step and his handle is sloppy as ****. Maxey has a nice first step and crafty handle despite not being huge or super athletic .

however it is hard to tell...Evan Turner had great handle and size but that first step was lackin (I do think he might have thrived in today's world if given the keys from jump on a bad team).

I think wingspan and/or height weighs in here a decent amount. Shai is a 6'6 PG with 7 ft wingspan. Doncic is a what, 6'8 PG? And if you're going to be tiny with no wingspan, you need to be one of those inflated offensive threats in college like Trae (30 & 10) or Iverson (25 & 5, and 3 stl per game). Tre Mann has pretty good size for a SG (6'5) but a negative wingspan and didn't put up insane stats. Definitely good stats. He's for sure a "must take" if he gets to us, but I don't see that as likely.

Coby White ain't a good athlete and he has the same wingspan as his height. I honestly don't think any of that matters in the grand scheme of things. If you can handle the ball and score off the dribble, you're golden.

Yes but there’s clear differences between Shai, Luka, Young and Mann.

Shai and Luka are just obvious big guards, one has length and an absurd finishing package even back in College just way too shifty. And one is literally a mini Lebron size without the freak speed/jumping ability with more of scoring skillset to compensate. Luka is a generational talent. Even at 6”3” he’d be something like Chris Paul lite or Deron Williams.

And Trae is a whippet, Nash/Lillard/Thomas/Curry hybrid rolled into one. It’s like how Nash would be playing today (should have on the Suns) just tack on being a better shooter/passer.

It’s the finishing ability that’s the concern because of his athletic limitations I have other then that Mann is really really good. I mean at pick 20 it’s an easy sell imo.

The point was that I don't think you have to be a plus athlete to be an impact scorer at the next level. The 2018 guys are just easy to site because they arose to stardom so quickly.

Like I mentioned, Coby White is a guy I compare more closely to Mann and he's well on his way to being unstoppable offensively. I'm not worried about Tre Mann's ability to score or finish at the next level. I think he'll be a 15+ PPG scorer almost right away and likely a 20+ guy by the end of his rookie contract.

Adidas signed Sharife Cooper to a shoe deal. They must thing he's going to be a big deal.

I honestly think he might drop.

People are looking at his size, lack of defense, and lack of jumper and getting turned off. I'm actually starting to see Auburn teammate J.T. Thor getting mocked ahead of him on some lists (which is silly).

At pick 28# if Chris Duarte is there I’m auto taking him.

I mean if there is going to be a Brogdon 2.0 in this class it will be him. Textbook, simple game but shows no flaws at what he does and what he does is shoot the ball super cleanly.

He actually has a little Devin Booker about him tbh (PNR shooting, Off the catch, Pull up, Midrange shots).

Discount Devin Booker would be perfect for us. Watching Bogi has me jealous too. Yes Chris is old but I’d happily take that mold of a player.

I think Duarte will look a lot more like Suns teammate Mikal Bridges than he does Devin Booker. Pure defensive player with assisted threes. I don't know how well Duarte would work out in a scoring role. A bit like Josh Richardson, perhaps (aka poorly).
