I mean he has 175 points in 168 minutes this post season. He’s averaging 29 in 27 minutes.

Also Jokic this post season has a PER of 27

Joel this post season has a PER of 33

Completely dominated tonight with 40 and 14. Jokic is very fortunate that Joel missed enough games to not win MVP.

Nonetheless both had historically good seasons. I prefer what Joel is doing.

Don't put a target on Embiid's back like this  You know how it will end

I'm happy for Jokic/believe he deserves the award. Cumulative impact matters when it comes to MVP. But yeah per game impact I would take Embiid over anybody in the league right now

The best ability is availability. Embiid only played in 51 games. Jokic played in all 72 games.

The vote would have been closer. I think there are more vocal Jokic fan boys on this message board. But a lot of what ifs. With Embiid Sixers were 39-12. Best in the league. Just too many games missed. Sixers likely have league best record if Embiid had played more games. But that’s what if.

I’m just praying Embiid makes it through this round with his knee intact. He’s just too injury prone. Amazing player. But his body is just not built to last.

Jokic nearly averaged a triple double and his team didn't skip a beat when Murray went down. And he plays in the West.
I don't think it would have been a sure thing that Embiid wins it if healthy. Otherwise, the same could be said for LeBron.

Euro/Jokic fanboys is an impossible battle to win so not sure what you were expecting when deciding to make this thread.

On top of Jokic being one of the best in the league, he's very likable. I refuse to diminish his accomplishments in order to prop up Embeast. Both can be great

Maybe, but too bad Embiid can't play enough games in a season to win an MVP.

This **** is unnecessary. You can think Embiid was more impactful when on the floor but Jokic had an absolutely amazing season and is completely deserving.

Embiid plays with a star and has a way better supporting cast.

Jokic has legitimately never played with a second all star ever in his life.

Team argument sucks when there's barely any WL differential between the two teams.

"Very fortunate?" Some of you make it sound as if voodoo magic is behind health.

Injuries are not only a part of the game but a part of player profiles. It's no coincidence that the same players, such as Embiid, get repeatedly sidelined; why? Because with the exception of freak accidents like LeBron's high-ankle sprain, health is more attributable to self-maintenance and physical durability than luck.

Could Embiid have won the MVP if he were healthy? Possibly, but don't consider it misfortunate that he wasn't, because it's just part of the nature of the game, his physique, and possibly his regimen as well.

He never plays more but yes he probably would have won if he played a lot. It would have been undeserving though. Jokic was better, even game to game.

Could Joel play more minutes and more games if he didn’t force so much offense so early and so often, and paced himself better by setting up others too? We shall never know.

Why must my fellow sixer fans continue to tempt the basketball gods and invite bad karma? Both are great players. Jokic had an amazing year in which he dragged his team to the second round through a spate of injuries and line up changes dating back to COVID in a much tougher conference than the east outside the Nets. He's a historically great player on offense and underrated on defense. He absolutely deserves the award, and that does nothing to detract from Embiid, whose also a historically great big man hampered by a bad fit with the talented but deeply flawed Ben Simmons.

The question is if Embiid dragged his body to play 72 games would he still have the same impact?

MVP is about durability too, or otherwise you can flat out play 20 games and call it a season.
