jazz's defense has been legit.

It's hard to put into words just how bad Paul George has been this game.
What is it with him and Utah?

Very interesting series, toughest to call in these playoffs imo. Utah are clearly a better team overall, but they lack a real superstar who can swing games and a playoff series like Kawhi. Should be a very tightly contested series, if forced to pick I'd go Utah.
Don't think any of these teams can beat the Suns though.

What a strange game. Utah gets out to a quick lead, then misses 21 in a row. Clippers take a nice lead based on the play of the others while the two stars are secondary. Gobert outplayed by Zubac.
If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

Not really strange at all. It's the same second-round Clippers meltdown I've been watching almost every year for the past decade.

Clippers defense just isn't good enough. That's it.

Re: 2020-21 NBA Season Discussion
I love blocks to end the game.
Yeah...I knew this was over when the Jazz missed 21 in a row and were down only single digits.
Their defense is next level.
Utah and Phoenix are for real. People been disrespecting them assuming the LA teams would beat their ass cause of lack of star power.
If Conley is healthy then this should be a clear victory for Utah.

I can't wait for the offseason so we can finally trade PG. Can't watch another season of this routine from him.

Leonard wasn't much better than George, not seeing how PG is all to blame here when it was a pretty complete team failure.

Paul George missed a bunch of shots. Kawhi passed up a bunch of shots. Gobert was far less than an MVP candidate. Utah missed a bunch of shots. One is not worse than the others.
Utah is the better team. They won the game, and they should win the series.

Re: 2020-21 NBA Season Discussion
Ingles defense on that last play was NUTS. Rudy got the block and stop but Ingles blowing up that Dho and recovering back to Kawhi, tracking his move to the right in perfect position to contest and not foul forcing Kawhi to pass it out

Re: 2020-21 NBA Season Discussion
Is it really a mental thing with George, or is it a game thing? Like, does he just not have the skill to maintain his level of play against elite competition?
From what I can see, he's not a great passer/playmaker for a star wing, so that's an issue when he gets doubled. And he's not exactly an explosive athlete off the dribble (don't think he ever was, and he's probably a step slower now than he was in Indy), nor is he a great ball handler, so he has trouble consistently getting by his man in the half court. And ultimately, this makes him very reliant on his jumper, and that tends to be a little streaky, and it leads to inconsistent playoff performances. It's not to say he NEVER plays well come playoff time, he actually had a very good series against Dallas this year, and a good series against Denver last year outside of game 7, but he's never been "great", and he had his fair share of tough games against both teams. Like, Kyrie as the 2nd/3rd option had a monster series against Boston last round. He's had a great start to the Milwaukee series too, as the clear 2nd option. He was great as a 2nd option next to LeBron in the playoffs too, with way more good games than bad games. And I think it has to do with the fact that although Kyrie takes a ton of jumpers, he's got a great handle that allows him to 1. get easier jumpers by generating more space with his handle, and 2. generate dribble penetration in the half court on a more consistent basis. TBH, George doesn't seem to be the craftiest finisher around the rim either, and mainly just tries to finish through the trees and hope for a foul call, which isn't gonna work against Gobert.
I wouldn't say he's flat out "bad" in the playoffs, just inconsistent, and more prone to bad shooting nights than other offensive stars against a focused defense, and a lot of it comes down to being very jumper-reliant, since he's not great at generating easier points in the half court on a consistent basis.
