we should try to obtain the draft rights to Vasilije Micic from OKC. I read the Bulls GM is trying to acquire those same rights,

At the moment I want us to focus on shooters. I will look over the free agents eventually. Looking at next season, Golden State, and Brooklyn are going to be the two teams to beat.

If the off season went like this what would you think?

KP trade to Boston for Kemba

Sign Rashaun Holmes as FA

Sign Markanen to MLE (unless JRich opts out then just sign him outright).

Resign THJ

Mavs went hard after him before he signed that deal with Boston. They obviously have an interest. Personally I still would prefer to see if Indiana would be interested in trading KP for a Myles Turner but I do think the Mavs still have an interest in Kemba.

I'm really fearing this offseason

If they can't trade KP and the plan to resign Timmy what does that do? Any Richardson trade or FA signing to replace him isn't doing much either.

If they can't trade KP I would let Timmy walk. Just don't see too many paths to upgrade.

It's impossible make worse than last years where our big signs were Delon Wright and Josh Richardson. I'm pretty sure of this.

Last year really looks pretty unbeatable Richardson, Johnson, Iwundu, Burke, blogger, Melli, Green, Terry, Bey, Hinton. All more or less unplayable. Add KP's problems and it's miracle they were very near to beat Clippers.

Not saying it can be any worse. Just don't see a path to any thing more than marginal moves right now if they cant trade KP and plan to resign Timmy

... or trading KP for someone like Kemba.

Problem is that having disastrous 2.5 years in a row means there aren't players capable of playing or being traded for something. Add lost first round picks and it's obvious Mavs are in deep ****. And people are complaining how 36/8/10, 41% step-backs 3s player is having ball too much?

KP in 2020/21 was 20/9 48%FG (shooting 6 3s a game) with PER of 21.3, and that was on a bad year, mainly defensively, he has much higher value than Kemba, I want him gone, but if that's the return, keep him, absolutely keep him.

Whether KP has a much better upside than Kemba has to do with both their injuries. Normally KP would have a higher value, but it may depend on the team's need.

In this case, I don't see a straight-up trade, but more of a package deal. I think both teams might be better served with a multi-player package.

It's always a concern the Mavs will do something stupid.

Kemba for KP would be stupid. Very stupid. They had interest in Kemba before, but the way Doncic has developed, Kemba seems like a poor fit now.

What we have heard so far is Rick Carlisle is probably back, the Mavs are interested in resigning THJ and there could be "big changes." If THJ is back they can't have much cap room so that would seem to make a KP trade the most likely. They may very well have set the parameters for a deal at the trade deadline. I am hoping thats where the GSW rumors came from. And it would make sense GSW and the Mavs would prefer to do a deal in the offseason.

But a Kemba or Horford trade would also be "Big." Big and stupid, but still "Big." So we better be ready for that.

But Donnie and his minions said it's Luka's fault! He should be blamed and not them!

If you know you are able to bring in Holmes and Markanen then I am ok trading KP for Kemba... We should try to expand it to include Smart though...

KP + Kleber for Kemba and Smart?

KP + Brunson for Kemba and Smart?

If it is just Kemba, Boston should add a first

I like THJ, but i am out if his AAV goes over 15M - 16 M

The 1st deal is good, but I'd hate to give up all of Mavs cap space for the second deal.

This league rarely trades big for small. Especially if the small player is 31 years old and just plays the same amount of games with the big you are sending out.

For take Kemba(+Smart and a 1round pick) i would like dump Kleber and Powell (maybe to a third team) otherwise thanks Celtics but no way.
Then we should have more space.
