Hollinger and Duncan have Utah vs Brooklyn in the Finals. Hollinger voted Gobert 2nd place for MVP. Also voted for Gobert to be 1st team All NBA.
Ingles is cooked.

Personally, I think Ingles is a better player. But it difficult to tell for sure as they are so different. And Joe is practically starter... kind of.

I’m really happy about the jars responding with four straight wins, and crush in Memphis in the final game.

Mike got himself more time. Almost a week to the next game.

I think the whole team could use more rest. Conley mostly but Joe is looking tired.

I watched the last Clippers/Mavs game and where I thought I wanted the Mavs to win, with their ability to put a really big lineup on the floor and their ability to both shoot and get into the paint, I found myself wondering if we really want the Mavs or would the Clips be a better matchup over a series. Anyone else wondering this too?

I like the series went 7 games and find myself wanting a healthy Jazz more that which team I want to play? Yeah leaning towards Mavs but I think it'll come down to jazz and Conley being good to go. Lakers Suns I felt Suns were better team and hate Lakers and glad to see them gone but also believe Lakers were the easier team if we get that far.SoCalJazzFan wrote:I watched the last Clippers/Mavs game and where I thought I wanted the Mavs to win, with their ability to put a really big lineup on the floor and their ability to both shoot and get into the paint, I found myself wondering if we really want the Mavs or would the Clips be a better matchup over a series. Matchup wise I think the Jazz would be more suited facing a roster fielding big players. Joe, Royce, and Niang wouldn't have much of a problem keeping up. Imagine against the Mavs it'll look something like:SoCalJazzFan wrote:I watched the last Clippers/Mavs game and where I thought I wanted the Mavs to win, with their ability to put a really big lineup on the floor and their ability to both shoot and get into the paint, I found myself wondering if we really want the Mavs or would the Clips be a better matchup over a series. Royce on Luka
Conley on THJ
Gobert on Boban
Mitchell on DFS
The only mismatch is Bojan with Kristaps, only if Porzingis plays near the basket, and he doesn't do that often. He'd rather chuck away threes and drive, his advantage over traditional bigs, but not with Bogey.
I do think Mavs will matchup better if they start Richardson on Mitchell then DFS on Bojan. But still, they wouldn't have an answer for Rudy, and the rest of Utah's bench

I'll take the Mavs. Clippers have more grizzled, battle hardened vets. George and Leonard are big athletic wings that Royce and Ingles cannot guard.

Gobert awarded with another DPOY. Well deserved.
Draft Nate Wolters - FAILED
Keep Nate Wolters - FAILED
Keep Nate Wolters - FAILED

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

At the rate he is improving and with Quinn's ability to continually develop players, I can see him winning 2-3 more of these which would put him in HOF air.
Side note, just watched a Duncan Robinson's podcast called The Long Shot where Ingles and Niang are featured (2 separate podcasts) and both talk about Quinn's ability to develop players. Ingles especially credits him even stating he wouldn't still be with the Jazz if Q were not the coach.
Duncan states repeatedly about the chemistry and team aspect the Jazz have almost yearning for that style. The success of this years team has had ripple effects and with Ingles, Clarkson, even Conley, who Ingles stated could have gone elsewhere but was instrumental in choosing the Jazz when traded all made it clear they wanted to stay here because of how the teams run and how players continue to get better while here, may impact how well the Jazz can attract future Allstars. Probably dreaming, but it can't hurt to have these out there.

As already stated in this thread, in an announcement that won't even surprise Simmons or Green (who's self-promotion are more epic than their defense), Rudy wins his 3rd DPOY in a well-deserved LANDSLIDE.
Casual fans simply don't "get it" when it comes to Gobert, but his metrics are HOF/historically good. "Oh, he can't guard the perimeter well" has become an idiotic attempt to undermine a player, who's defensive impact is so far ahead of anyone else, it's laughable. Yeah, he's got the blocks and rebounds, but that stuff is fluff compared to the real impact. The % drop for players shooting against him is special. His defensive winshares are 20% higher than the #2 ranked player. His defensive real plus/minus is 60% higher than the the #2 player! (The other 2 "finalists aren't even in the top 30.) ...and the flat-out ability to completely change how the opposition plays against Rudy/Utah is nuts. There's nobody else even close to him.
Barring a team defensive collapse &/or injury, the only thing that will stop this award from being the Rudy Gobert Award for the foreseeable future, is if voters simply get bored of awarding the best player & want to share the trophy with a less deserving runner-up.

Lindsey nearly won executive of the year.
He's not perfect, but pretending that we aren't lucky to have a quality FO is just plain silly.

I don't see anything in that quote that says anything you're implying. He was clearly still hurting in game 6.
