Definitely would make for a very good storyline!
Nash facing off in the finals ( with Dantoni ) who both helped lead the Cinderella suns to the finals. Now on opposing sides, present vs. past, Nadh as the point guard that led us, Now a coach, against Paul a historically great point guard leader, Also leading us against the former historically great suns guard that previously led us!

Durant iconic star ( with star level supporting cast) against Devin Booker ( New star prodigy, Coming into relevance as an iconic star of the suns! Brooklyn with a loaded star studded team. The suns with unbelievable depth and young star laden talent ( Ayton, Bridges, etc) coming into their own! Current " well known stars" vs. new hungry upstarts! Dantoni whose renowned for his offense vs. Williams whose created a stellar defense! Stat ( suns " Big man " legend vs. Ayton) Coach vs. Players. Basically "Old Guard vs. New emerging stars! So many mirrored storylines to actually pull from here! Last but certainly not least, The immense feel good story of Paul finally reaching the promise land ( more or less) against the former legendary suns guard, Wherein the suns finally exercise their demons ( IF Paul can carry them to a championship)??? All in all, old vs. New and new version " Sunderella" suns, vs. the juggernaut Nets!

It would definitely be epic entertainment! :D
Nash and Dantoni never lead the Suns to the finals. Mike got out coached every time we tried.

I get it was garbage time but McGee earned some minutes for Game 3 with how he played
And if Paul were setting something up for this summer - so be it. If the Suns win this series - they for sure will be a destination for players on veteran minimum deals.

Suns are an ascending team in the West that is to be sure. Booker, Ayton and Bridges are a strong core to build around - especially if they have CP3 for a few more years.

If we're a destination for vet players then we can do better than JaVale. I'd how hope at least.

Yeah, you don't recruit guys right after a blowout win in the middle of a series on the court, and he's not even good enough to recruit. Not to say he won't sign with us but I seriously doubt CP3 thoughts after this game were "Hey, let me go recruit Javale". Monty and JJ have plenty of time to do that in the offseason and will want to evaluate all potential options..they certainly are not going to make any decisions or commit to anyone now...not a guy at that low of a level.

Also Paul against all his former teammates Harden, Blake, Jordan.

And maybe the biggest storylines...Mike James and Tyler Johnson face off against their former Suns teammates.

Sure you're right man!
Apologies, it's been a very long morning with not much rest. And obviously I mixed things up a bit it seems. But the storyline would still be coach against coach - Offense ( Nash / Dantoni) vs. Defense ( Williams). Old suns legends contingent ( Nash/ Dantoni/ Amare/) against the new Cinderella underdog suns!

Old suns star guard that led the team deep into the playoffs ( Nash) vs. new suns star guard (Paul). Old blood established stars ( Durant/ Irving/ Harden) etc vs. New up and coming soon to be established stars ( Booker/ Ayton/ Bridges)???? Led by a soon to be hall of Famer ( in Paul). Just as Nash led the young sun stars of back in the day ( Amare, Marion, etc).

And even though it wasn't to the finals ( my bad) ( memory isn't always as sharp as it used to be) it was at least to a very competitive semifinal series in which the old suns led by Nash and coached by Dantoni were also underrated and overlooked! But also made an unexpected Cinderella type of playoff run of sorts.

Ultimately it's old legends vs. New upstarts! Both teams are connected by the same franchise, with coaches against players. Old suns guard Nash couldn't get the suns to the finals. But perhaps Paul could finish what Nash couldn't! That would make for an interesting story. The suns legends together reunited with their old franchise. Facing each other for the championship??? No matter which team wins, players from the suns finally achieve a championship. Hopefully it's us though! And how bittersweet would it be for suns fans either way?

What other current outcome could genuinely offer a more interesting and entertaining outcome?

Yep!!!
Really though. Why not! Paul could finally establish himself as a champion hall of famer! Old suns contingent meets the new suns contingent with a twist! Either way a new team wins a championship. Either way, a suns great ( Nash/ Amare) OR ( Paul / Booker) walk away with a championship! Trio of offensive stars ,( established) Durant/ Irving/ Harden against the (suns trio of new up and coming stars) Booker/ Ayton/ Bridges? Great team offense ( Brooklyn) against stellar playoff defense ( Phoenix).

Paul vs. Irving matchup.
Booker vs. Harden matchup.
Bridges vs. Durant matchup.
Ayton vs. Griffin ( reenergized) matchup.
Both have great bench depth!
Payne vs. Dinwiddie ( scoring)?
It really could be worse with another team. But ALL JOKING AND SARCASM ASIDE!!! Is there another team that I'm missing with better potential storylines available? :dontknow:

Last night, Devin Booker, Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton became the first Suns trio to record double-doubles in the same playoff game since Steve Nash, Shawn Marion and Amar'e Stoudemire back in 2007 https://t.co/g1Ii11tuXT

Making comparisons with the current suns to the past Nash led suns that were young, hungry and surprisingly dominant in the playoffs, And led by a Hall of fame level brilliant point guard!
What a nice story. 8-)

Don’t know why but not a fan of that ring chasing trio of coaches and their player manipulated roster. Would enjoy a square off. Long ways to go but the story has already been written.

Back for my semi monthly reminder that a lot of you wanted javel McGee on this roster who is currently playing beyond garbage time in Denver.

Thank God we have James Jones and not some you over tinkerers!

Return to Phoenix Suns
