Last year was a fluke because it was a shortened season.

then there's lebron who is only in LA to shoot space jam 2.

So AD has been to the playoffs 4 times, and this season was the only one he got injured and missed games.

Other than that, solid theory.

AD has been injury prone his whole career. The Pelicans even shut him down halfway through the year in 2019 and kept him on ice for the Lakers. If you can’t recognize that fact, well I don’t know what to tell you.

This isn’t up for debate, it’s a fact. He’s been to the playoffs 4 times and only missed games once. So the phrase “you can’t expect AD to be healthy for the playoffs” doesn’t have much substance to it. No matter how many times you jump up and down and stomp your feet to try and make it true.

This is a unique situation though. He played a lot of games in Aug, then a condensed season, then rushing him back before the playoffs to try and stabilize playoff seeding. None of that helped. No doubt he has injury problems, but the Lakers (and every other team) likely would have faired better injury wise given a normal season.

Bingo. All the teams that played deep into the bubble had issues with injuries and overall fatigue. None of them have looked good this playoffs. The rushed season and short layoff punished those teams.

And it wasn’t just AD banged up. LeBron, KCP, and Caruso were also dealing with injuries that limited them significantly.

I like how Laker fans conveniently fail to acknowledge that their overall roster is complete crap. They are horrible players that can’t shoot or defend. Lakers were never going to win anything this year. Even with old man and tissue paper healthy. That team sucks!! And the Suns showed it by completely and thoroughly kicking their a$$e$. It was a complete bloodbath beat down. Lakers will now be the laughingstock of the NBA for the next decade.

You know how it is, folks see stuff on realgm and just run with it, no fact checking at all.

Personal insult complete with childlike emoticons. But no refuting the facts of my post. The Lakers are trash and severely screwed for the future. It was great that the significantly better team wiped the Staples Center floor with them and salsa danced them away. Bye bye Lakers! See you in 10 years.

I don't want to spoil the party, but as a sins fan I would be careful. After the own play off drought over a decade, it is not good to be cocky.

However the observations regarding the lakers are true. They are not better than last year. A team with dennis schroeder as option no 3 will not go far.

The LeBron/AD Lakers will never again be healthy enough to win a championship. The window has closed. Deal with it.

I guess I'll take your word for it, because if anyone knows when a championship window is closed it's suns fans.

Suns are the biggest threat to injured playoff teams

Every team is banged up a bit at this stage. The Suns themselves overcame the Lakers with their best player unavailable/crippled for most the series. They’re just better than the Lakers and Nuggets.

The everyone is banged up line doesn't work when 2 teams had a way shorter turnaround than all the other teams. We lost it is what it is, but that turnaround hurt the last four teams, and really hurt the last two with injuries and fatigue.

There's really no argument for Lakers > Suns this year. Last year the Lakers won the title. Next year, who knows? But the Suns were the better team this season and it's not a debate. That said, all of this bitterness is a bad look for both sides.

The Lakers will likely be a great team next year. We'll soon see just how good the Suns are this season, and next season we'll hopefully see a rematch in the playoffs.

Last time Lebron wore No 6, he had two all stars riding with him.

Let's see what the Lakers do this offseason. O_O

Accepting the injury situation gets easier when you recall that building the most physically resilient team is part of building the best team. Especially if your expectation is to compete for titles several years in a row. Otherwise we're just out here shouting at the sky.
