Many “shoulda coulda woulda” but trading Bridges is not one of them.
It would be fair to not expect to get everything in life. We got lucky on Jojo. Imagine ending up with Wiggins. Even if you play everything perfectly in your next moves, it wont make up for it. Something has got to give.
For me the biggest blow was the Fultz injury. It’s a black swan event. Until now, nobody knows what really happened to him. For me a healthy Fultz was the perfect guy to compliment Biid and Ben.
We really had the dark side of variance. I mean.. come on. We already lose the trade and then Zhaire almost died from eating peanuts. Lol wtf.. i remember how the team was bragging about how we had a world class kitchen in our training facility. LOL
Then the second one was Fertita punking us with the Harden trade.
“If Sixers puts Ben on the table for the Harden deal, it’s done deal”
They preferred CLEAR health risks like LeVert or Dipo over Ben. And who would have thought that the Nets would have doubled down or maybe even tripled down on offense by overpaying for Harden.
No matter you get lucky or unlucky, what matter is how you can max out the cards dealt to you.
After the Fultz injury we either had the most talented roster of the process era in 2018-2019), projected by sports media to make it to the finals (2019-2020) or is the top team in the east (this year).
As long as we have a mindset of winning a championship, by any means necessary (including trading Ben or Embiid, IF NECESSARY. No favorites) then we have a shot.
Personally, I’d just be focused on trying to max out the talent of our squad this playoffs. Then let’s explore all options in the offseason.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.
