it's funny because everyone else is more excited than they've been in awhile but this year has almost cured me of this accursed fandom. i can deal with being terrible because at least there's a slight hope of drafting someone. being a perpetual 7th/8th seed (or not even) is the worst. and those teams always get torn up after a couple of wasted years like orlando and maybe indy soon. it all seems fun when you first get in the playoffs before you realize the hopelessness of the spot you're in.

I would totally agree with you if we were locked into multiple bad contracts, no picks etc!!

I (seriously) echo your sentiment.

I was way more optimistic about the Knicks' future entering the summer of 2011 when we signed Tyson to pair him with Melo (who was twice the player Julius is and that's not a shot at Randle), after the 2012-13 season, or when entered the 2019 lottery with the best lottery odds. Today just feels blah.

This team definitely feels like the Vucevic Orlando Magic or the Sabonis Indiana Pacers, unless our young players make the leap and show star potential. I think IQ has shown skills that are somewhat reminiscent of Gilbert Arenas, for whatever it's worth. And Obi looks like he could be a more efficient scorer than Randle at the 4. They haven't shown enough for me to actually count on it though, if that makes sense. I'm a huge believer in RJ but to be fair the evidence is lacking so far.
