I'd like to see him coached by rick carlisle or another top 5 coach and playing next to a superstar guard (preferably in Milwaukee) before drawing conclusions but yeah he's looking more like a robin.
In reference to our title winning year

Giannis' offense does not lend itself well to creating timely baskets in the clutch. For the complete opposite of Giannis, see Kawhi Leonard -- can get a bucket anytime in mid range and mid post. Both have big hands. Kawhi came into the league and his biggest perceived weakness was his ability to shoot. Developing with the Spurs was the best thing that could have happened. Giannis was told to abandon his shot as a rookie and his jump shot and shot in general has never looked worse; he used to have a very smooth jumper and shooting motion.

All these years in and it looks like Giannis is still dominating based mainly on his supreme physical gifts, nothing about his offensive game is refined/polished with deliberate and advanced go to moves. He is more predictable than ever which makes his offensive numbers amazing to behold, except when the Bucks need a basket in the playoffs. He is surely one of the most physically gifted players in NBA history -- a trait that allowed him to be able to earn two MVPs based almost entirely from that which is insane.

Not hopeless, just needs a NO FLY ZONE instead of LET IT FLY.

He did say, I might not shoot any in the next game.

Maybe they're making Brooklyn think this is how he'll play. But slowly the switch is flipped to almost entirely inside game. He averaged like 6 3pa in the RS vs them. Keeping it up now.

It was probably because of that summer that he went to play for Greece instead of working on his jump shot.

Speaks VOLUMES to his basketball IQ if he thinks the best decision is to shoot a three.

The good news is, if he takes 8 again, he probably will make more than 1 of them?

question for you guys.....

if your girlfriend was a supermodel making millions of dollars a year but was kind of a trainwreck emotionally and sometimes attacked you with a butcher knife would you.....

1. stay and try to work it out?
2. run and hide?

asking for a friend

The mental regression against playoff defenses is mind-boggling. It was kind of understandable against the Raptors and Heat because those teams were just really good defensively with multiple All-Defense caliber players capable of frustrating him. But against this mediocre at best Nets front, I just can't comprehend how he keeps going into his shell and continues to play scared.

Even weirder that he looked so much more comfortable and assertive in his two series preceding the Bud era (Toronto and Boston) and was legitimately awesome in those, the team/coaching just wasn't good enough. This idea that teams have actually "figured him out" is a myth. He legitimately just crumbles under pressure and continues to be his own worst enemy.

It's funny that he says, "make the best decision" not having the self-awareness or understanding that in those situations it wasn't the best decision. Maybe someone like, oh I don't know, a coach or teammate could help him make better decisions? :dontknow:

Unless they do and he just doesn't listen. Then it's a lost cause, which regardless, I think it is.

Maybe the team should adopt the same jack up runner philosophy. Shoot nothing but early 3s. If they fall, if they miss. Everyone else scramble for the O board, get back on D. Save all energy for running, boards & D. Hoist those 3s.

In 2019 Brook helped close out Boston with 0-7 3pt shooting performance & started out against Toronto 4-11. Similar territory.

Versus Toronto only Brogdon hit 50% of his treys, 3 of 6. Everyone else abysmal. Both of these games the Bucks hit a total of 15 3pt. Last night there were only 6 makes by the whole team.

Not only should Giannis hopefully have a better conversion rate but so should the team. So far they're not hitting the way they did vs. Miami.
