Aren’t ChiSox fans saying the same thing about the Jays? We’ve been terrible the last 2 games.

Not nearly as bad as they have been.

Torturous outcome. Manny Lee (anybody sticking #9 back when I was playing) gets on and your lead off guy hits into a double play… the table was set for awesomeness!

Would have been nice if we went to Castro sooner in that Indians game.

What a terrible pitch to throw in a 2-2 count with no one on base. A fastball right down the middle basically.

Hendriks against the bottom half of this lineup is a loss. At least there's only 7 more games left in this ridiculous schedule.

He's a marginally better hitter than Adams, has more experience, and we needed to give ourselves every chance possible to extend the inning?

I think we're a 2015 David Price away from having a very good second half team, health permitting.

Hopefully they’re a 2021 George Springer away.

As it stands, we're probably a very good starting pitcher and multiple good relievers away, but we're also 5.5 games back of second in the division at the moment. There's certainly plenty of time to figure out where we stand, but we're probably as likely to be sellers (of short-term assets) in July as we are poised to make home run moves, with the most likely scenario being that we're in-between and chase a Wild Card spot without going nuts to do so.

We're still well-positioned for the future, so there's no need to panic one way or the other.

That particular stat obviously has something to do with the absurd schedule they've played so far this season. I too agree the Jays aren't likely to be buying significant rentals like 2015 AA, but they're quite likely to start winning more games in about a week or so once the schedule lightens up and their 2nd best player returns (he is returning, right? He can't just hit BP for the rest of his life). We can't predict if anybody else will suffer some kind of injury between now and the deadline but at or near full strength they should certainly be in the playoff chase in a few months.

Oh, definitely. I'm certainly not writing the team off; it's a legitimately solid team overall, with some flaws. But it's a bit walk-before-we-run...we still have a pretty good chance at a Wild Card in any instance, but will need to make up real ground on the division to justify being really aggressive at the deadline.

I've seen enough of Lourdes Gurriel Jr. in LF. He takes terrible paths to the ball. Seen it too many times this season. Costing the team hits and runs. I could care less if he has an accurate arm. Time to shop him around for some pitching help.

Our SP isn't good enough right now to expect a deep playoff run. We have a fringe #1 starter who may be in decline and a bunch of 3-5 caliber guys. Springer should have a big impact, but we'll need better pitching against good postseason teams.

Yeah, he’s deceptively slow.

I think he makes good plays when he actually gets to the ball. But getting there is an issue.

Hmm, interesting. I've never really looked at him and thought of him as slow. His body type usually suggests he'd be a decent runner.

He has a slow first step combine that with bad routes and you have a bad out fielder. I don’t believe it’s something you can coach either

he also runs like a duck.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.
