His offensive game fell into the weird netherworld where he never panned out as that Lebron Hill type guy, but he also never learned how to play like Amare. He is probably worse in halfcourt offensively than prime Blake although better in transition.

Unfortunately Jason Kidd stopped him from shooting in his 2nd year when he had a pretty decent shooting % his rookie year.

Then everyone kept saying how Giannis "needed a shot." I honestly don't think he did. I think teaching Giannis to shoot was a lost cause. What Giannis needed was to learn to play more like a big and less like a forward. This means more of a post-up game so he has a reliable way to score as opposed to just driving. Now he cannot score outside of the paint and he can't score when the paint is walled off vs teams that game plan for him.

Teams are fine with playing off him and this makes it difficult to create for himself and teammates.

yes i agree & if he wants to shoot. Should only be 1-2 threes per game.

2nd RD bump

led the Bucks with Jrue past Miami 4-0 sweep

played good defense but his offense was questionable

I expect monster numbers for Giannis against the Nets like something like 35 PPG ... is that going to be enough?, I don't but I believe the bucks are capable of giving at least a fight against this team especially if they hit at a good percentage their many open 3 they have a good chance of having a lot

1 short of 35 pts

Game 1 vs Nets
34 PTS
11 REBS
2 BLKS

ONLY 3 FTA (0-3)

In the reg.season he averaged 8.3 FTAs, needs to put more pressure on the Nets defense?
&

Middleton

6 -23 FG made it worse

Easy points inside all day. Blake Griffin looked irritated. Well, anyone in his position would be. Giannis can't be stopped once he gets close to the basket.

Should've a nice series. Whether they win or not, I dunno. They'll need to make some serious changes to contain the Nets offense.

Game 2

11 REBS
4 AST

18 PTS

2/7 FT
28.6

Durant is getting his points easy.
I thought Giannis was the reigning DPOY...

Khris Middleton
7 -20 FG
FG% 35
5 TOVs

continues to struggles

any thoughts?

Do you think it's too late for Giannis to change his game? He's set up very well for regular season play but he keeps getting exposed against good teams in the playoffs.

He's 26 can he develop a competent post game this late in the stage? I think him trying to become a good 3-point shooter is a fruitless pursuit for him.

What he needs is a roll game, which feels like it should still be doable. No more pull-up 3s is all I ask though.

I feel like this is Giannis' worst playoffs since he's entered his prime.

The metrics support it too.

Yeah, the Bucks’ offense is better with him off court, which isn’t good. Defense has been better than last year’s. Needs to have a monster game in game 4 to shift the narrative

i still think he should be a center in the playoffs

that would make him and the bucks more effective

hmm..interesting

Point Center?

I thought about this too for this series. Since Lopez is slow, the Nets will go after in Pick n Roll, for fast breaks opportunity & more.

Should be used as a roll man and off-ball more instead of handling the ball. Him driving from behind the 3-point line is predictable when teams gameplan in the playoffs.

Game 3

Bucks win
86
83 Nets

14 REBS
33 PTS

14 / 31 FG%
4/9 FT% 44.4
1/8 3pt FG% 12.5

Middleton

15 REBS
35 PTS
8/9 FT%

Great bounce back game from Middleton.

Can the Bucks get help besides these two ...scoring wise?

Even Shaq had the better shooting than Giannis. How great is our era :/ .
