Still not sure if improving the quality of role players we have in our playoff rotation is the play. It's tempting, but ultimately, this team reaches its goals when they draft and develop shotcreators. Maxey was a good first step. 2021's pick has been along the same lines.

Bouknight keeps showing up 20+ in mock drafts, if he falls to even 15, I’m making a move for him. He’s clearly a star to me.

Jay Huff is a first rounder, change my mind. He is so undervalued in this draft when he’s 7’1 with a 7’5 w/s and is a legit three ball threat while being one of the best rim protectors in the NCAA. Imagine Maxey running the PnR with him in the second unit. Easy offense.

Cooper at #28 is a major win for us, IMO. We get the best creator in the draft who is also the best passer in the draft.

I won't pretend to an expert on college drafts. But if Cooper is such a good prospect why does he fall to 28?

By the way a couple of years ago I recall you being very high on Cameron Payne. He had to go to the G-league and China to get his head together but he did and is now producing. Good call. But I bet if he was a stock he would have been sold a long time ago and now everyone would be kicking themselves for not holding on when it was at it's lowest.
The Accession of Paul Reed is upon us !

You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

He's going to be probably 5'9 without shoes on. Sub 2 STL%, 39% FG, 22% 3FG, sub 50% 2FG. I get the allure and I'm actually not against taking him, but it's tough to hit on shorter players, especially ones that was a volume shooter who had poor percentages.

The reason I'm somewhat interested in him is his excellent vision, high FTr, and high production in a good conference. But he's definitely lower on my list.

A few reasons. He's really tiny (listed at 6'1" 180 and probably not that tall). He's a huge defensive liability that makes little to no defensive plays (doesn't even generate steals). And he has no three point range, at this time.

Ah, thank you, sir. Yeah, I thought Cam had a lot of game, but questions of his maturity played out and it took him a while to get his foot in the door. Playing well now so that's good for him.

Cooper definitely is not the best creator in the draft cmon now.

I’d take Butler, Christopher, Duarte over him. There’s a very high chance he’s a bench player at best on limited role time and there is serious bust potential, non draft able aspect. Players that small can’t afford to be that inefficient. He isn’t small, he’s tiny with no defense and not a great shooter at all.

Anyway

Green - Taller/Hyper Beal or dare I say it smaller Kobe. Yes he’s that special.
Mobley - Bosh
Suggs - Kidd

One of them will be the best player from this draft wherever they go.

If we aren’t trading the pick and Jared Butler is there take him and we’ll be happy. He is pro ready.

Just to clarify, when I say creator, I'm referring to scoring off the dribble.

Yes I get that but it’s very very risky to take a prospect like shariffe. There is a lot of holes in his game that for a tiny guy is inadmissible. I’m not worried about size up until a point. He’d be smallest guy in the NBA and coming with those holes is just a no for me.

Butler ain’t that big either but what he does do is much more transferable to me. I’d prefer Ayo as well

I totally get the apprehension about munchkin prospects. I just think Cooper is special.

Best passer in draft. Relentless attacker of the basket. Fearless driver despite his size and failure rate at the rim. Elite shotcreation. 80%+ free throw shooter so there's a decent chance that he'll have a three point shot halfway through the rookie contract.

I think I’m getting more and more committed to Miles McBride at our pick. I have time this week to watch a few WVU games to see how he performed at his best and worst to see if I’m turned off by him.

I'm trying to settle on either Sharife Cooper, David Johnson or Jaden Shackleford. However, if Tre Mann is somehow on the board in the 20s, I'm trading Milton plus the 1st to move up for him in a heartbeat.

But if we are going to trade up the only prospect Id want is Jalen Green and no one else. Non lotto picks are marginal and ain’t worth it to trade up imo unless there is a player (Shai or MPJ) that shouldn’t even be there. Developmental ones that do a Giannis or a Jokic are few and far between (Very, Very rare).

At 4 I truly believe Jalen shouldn’t be there at all.

Even at 2 I’d 100% pull the trigger on him. (Best prospect for me bar none.)

It might be Luka at 3 all over again.

Trae is great, never should have made the deal though this is what happens. At pick 3 you just got the best player do not trade him.

Lesser extent Mikal Bridges. You just got your BPA on the draft board, why in the world would you trade it away for another unproven prospect. It’s nonsensical at best.

Drafting is more about hitting already transferable markers not so much the production side of things. The chances of hitting X ceiling is a lot lower then actually hitting in of itself.

Moving from the end of the draft to early-20s is a little more easily doable than getting into the top 3.

I think an underrated con for Sharife Cooper is that he might actually break his ankles biting on a move his man makes. He is truly a non-factor to negative on the defensive end.

His shot doesn't look bad and he's comfortable taking any shot despite having terrible percentages. He might be a tougher sell to me than I thought.

Honestly, this draft sucks. I think Roko Prkacin would be my pick at the moment. Stash him, hope he gets taller, bring him over in a year.

IMO, Fair trade off for a guy capable of scoring 18+ points in like 15 minutes off the bench. I also think it's going to be incredible valuable when he's forcing opposing guards into foul trouble, at will. And his truly elite passing ability will make the players he's on the floor with better. Your screen and rollers will love playing with the guy. The assisted shotmakers will love playing with this guy. I truly believe he can be an offensive force in this league.

I've been checking out this small school senior out of Umass Lowell named Obadiah Noel. Pretty damn explosive scorer.

6'4" 190 and will turn 22 later this month.

This looks like the type of dude you call up after the draft and give a camp invite to.

I know there's a lot of mock drafts out there that have Christopher falling to us, but I'm fairly confident there's zero chance of that happening.
