Indiana are the Blazers East.

Here's a name that I hope we do due diligence on: Jamahl Mosley. Currently an assistant with the Dallas Mavericks.

Never made it to the NBA as a player but a really intelligent basketball mind. Has been with the Mavs since 2014.

Has been linked with the Celtics job but he should be interviewed for ours as well.

This is the kind of candidate I like. Guys who had to climb the ranks on talent not on their name.

Though honestly, I wouldn't be opposed to Mike D'Antoni if Dame signs off on it.

D’antoni would practically guarantee us no title but at the same time we’d probably make the wcf at least

One way or another i doubt it happens, not after olshey talking about defense as the primary reason terry was terminated. But then again olshey sure loves to sell things even when he says one thing and does the opposite

I do wonder how Dame in his ninth year in the league would function in a D'Antoni offense given he's
only played under Terry Stotts. I would think Dame would function more as a SG for the new offense
would require someone to push the ball up court to get those 3/2 or 4/3 open court looks. The
change in tempo would require a lot of time to implement for transition from Stotts to a look similar
to Phoenix is night and day but a better fit if the team plays small.

We're already guaranteed not to win a title no matter who our coach is. I think D'Antoni gives us the best chance to be the best team we can.

Nash and Harden won MVP under D'Antoni. Dame could be next.

Maybe this was already posted, I didn't see it. A parting letter from Stotts:

https://www.nba.com/blazers/story/2021/6/5/parting-message-from-coach-stotts

“All good things must come to an end”. An English Poet

In 2012, when I was hired as the Trail Blazers’ Head Coach, I could not have imagined the incredible ride this coaching journey would take. The extraordinary opportunity to be the Head Coach of the Blazers for the last nine years has been such an honor and privilege. It certainly has been far more than a “good thing”, and now it has come to an end.

There are SO many people to thank:

First and foremost, to the late Paul Allen and to Neil Olshey for giving me the opportunity to once again be an NBA Head Coach and for their partnership. Also, to Jody Allen for her trust and ongoing stewardship of this exceptional franchise.

Obviously, a special thank you must go to the Damian Lillard. These last nine years would not have been possible for me if it were not for the talent, leadership, and trust of Damian Lillard, a true MVP. I am immensely proud of the culture Neil, Damian and I created with the Blazers.

THANK YOU RIP CITY fans! You are incredibly special and unique. The passion and love you have for your Blazers are second to none. Every season, your support and overwhelming enthusiasm made Moda Center the most difficult arena for opponents and the best home court advantage in the NBA. I know of no more loyal fans than those of Blazer Nation. I cherished it and never took it for granted.

To the Players: Without a doubt, the NBA is a player’s league, and it is a team sport. So, thank you to the 71 talented players who played for us these past 9 seasons. I have many fond memories of each team and every player.

To my coaching staffs: I loved my coaching staffs through the years and thank them for their tireless work ethic, passion, and excellence. But mostly, I thank them for their friendship and humor. They made the work enjoyable, even when times were difficult. I often told them that our coaches’ meetings were the best part of my day.

To all the Blazer support staff, thank you! To everyone at the Practice Facility, Health and Performance, Basketball Operations, Media Relations, Social Media, and Blazers Broadcasting. They all do their jobs with such excellence and it was my honor working with them. A special thank you to our Athletic Trainer and Sommelier Geoff Clark, and my right-hand assistant Beth Hancock. Additionally, thank you to Chris McGowan and all the Blazers Business Operations at Moda Center.

Being the Head Coach of the Trail Blazers has been a life changing experience. There have been so many special memories that my wife, Jan, and I will always cherish; memories involving wonderful people and lasting friendships. We thoroughly enjoy living in Portland and all that Oregon has to offer. We are proud to call Portland home.

Thank you RIP CITY. Stay safe and be well

The good times and memories will last forever.

Keep Portland Weird.

I wouldn't mind having D'Antoni back in Portland. Many don't know, he was an assistant coach here 20+ years ago.

The only difference is one guy is out the door and the other guy still has his thankless job.

Blazers fans can appreciate a gracious farewell letter, even if it's from a guy who was tarred, feathered, and run out of town on a rail. The nicest thing anyone did for Terry in a long while was fire him and give him a favorable contract buyout.

I don't know if we can do better, but I have a strong feeling Ime Udoka will have a HC job next year. Can we please not miss out on this guy, and can we then also add Mike D to the staff just to run the O? Pay him low-mid HC money. It would be worth it Jody! The point made about Nash and Harden both MVPs under him is why it would be worth it. I just don't like the idea of him running the whole show; Would be like Stotts on Meth. This pairing could give us a focus in D, while still giving the O, some fine tuning.

I also still want that medical and training staff run over with a fine tooth comb!!!!! We need the best talent there as well.

Mike D'Antoni would be a great choice. I believe being a great head coach has very little to do with basketball. The best coaches are great salesman, psychologists, and communicators. I remember D'Antoni was coaching USA basketball and Gilbert Arenas was on his team. Arenas was dropped off the team and he blamed D'Antoni for the slight. Arenas said in his next game against Suns, he would drop 50 on him (D'Antoni). D'Antoni was asked about Arenas comment. He said, I believe he will, but will it be enough?

That was a brilliant answer by D'Antoni. Arenas could score 50-60 points any time he wanted. But, is that the best plan to get a win, and what matters most.
