Mostly I assume the Masgic will draft a PF or combo-C at 33, but going for a 3rd string SG makes a good deal of sense. The Magic could then use a season to evaluate Ayayi, and his potential as a future back-up SG.
Roko Prkacin makes since at 33. He won't be 19 until November, and you could probably stash him for a year or two.

He could potentially be one of the better players in this years draft. He reminds of a better shooting AG, with the same dunking ability.

A combo-C?
What makes you sure the Magic would draft a PF or combo-C ?

It is literally the cheapest way to fill out the 3rd-string big on a rotation. Second rounder rookies can be signed for less than a 1M deal.

Whoever the next 3rd string big is, that person's job is to be a practice squad player.

But I do think the Magic could also look to a player that could develop into a nice rotational bench player. And Begarin could be an interesting option.

I don't you know Begarin.
What can you tell me about him?

Mobley is a good prospect (i have him at 4 for us) but I’d be bummed if we took him at 2. If we do go Mobley at 2, I like Moody at 8

In this scenario, give me Green and Sengun all day

Your scenario is also very interesting.
As i am from Europe I watch a lot of european basketball.

Sengun is very good for his age.

at 33, its should either be a stash or a high upside project

Id really like them to take a shot at 33 on someone like Makur Maker. I get he didnt do anything this year in college (i think he played 1 game?), but he was a 5 star recruit and has size and high upside

I get that WeHam draft Thon Maker and he was a total bust, but Makur is suppose to be the superior player and this isnt a top 10 pick. In the 2nd, i feel like hes worth the risk

Dream draft for me, while likely a nightmare scenario for some, would be

Green - Jalen Johnson - Maker

Gives us everything we need
A go-to alpha scorer
a high upside SF who has top 5 talent
a High upside big prospect thats essential a low risk\high reward prospect

Definitely not my dream scenario. I like moody for our second pick. We need to build from the outside in. The game has shifted. Embiid and Jockic are outliers but even the MVP is struggling with out his star guard.

Normally thats true BUT with the injury concerns of our primary bigs in WCJ, Mo and JI.. that 3rd string big may need to log 20-30mins a game so that practice player level doesnt do it for us.

I'd be very surprised if we kept 33. Most likely traded or stashed. Almost too many mouths to feed without any draft picks this year.

I thought this too, but I don't buy it this year. The team is dedicated to a full rebuild\youth movement, and could see them being ok with going with 3 rookies and 3 2nd year players (Cole, rj, okeke) and adding fultz, isaac, wc, mo and 2 vet leaders (Harris and Ross)

It's likely a 25 win team next year at best, and I think weham and the new coach would be ok with that as it's all about building for the future not for '21-22

I've been hearing that this draft is running like 45 deep, in terms of quality players. To be honest I'd rather just let Gary Harris go and take a shot at a player.

Same thinking. If this was Cliff still I would think we wouldnt use it but with a new coach? possibly a rookie one? then that would be no problem if we trot out 3 rookies and 3 sophomores.

Plus with how deep this draft is? its kinda a waste not to use what is essentialy a low FRP.

45 deep? Somebody has to be on LSD.

Even arguablly best draft ever, 1996 one, had 11 players that never suited up for single nba game, few complete lottery busts, and at last 20 guys who's name will pop up in some pub quiz and nobody will have any clue who they are like Martin Müürsepp or Othella Harrington ( both first round picks tho ).

This draft really gets depressing after Mobley, Green, Suggs and Cade. That's why you see guy like Jalen Johnson, who did apsolutley nothing , raising up in mocks over time. Mostly because scouting others turns into headache to the point where scouts & GMs start to talk themselfs into idea that 6'9 combo forward with nice athletic profile might be better pick than whoever they scouted day before .

Everything else is nba hype and nothing more. In 2019 espn called that draft " biggest in years". Two years later, Morant is good, Zion is good and... 5 out of remaining 11 lottery picks are complete busts so far.

Chad Ford called it 45 deep on his last podcast. He said you could make arguments for at least 11 of the projected 2nd rounders to be in the first round. He's been doing the draft a long time and said that never happens.

In a normal year, a lot of these projected second rounders would be top 20 picks.

Max Abmas seems interesting. I heard he has Curry like range.

I dunno about 45 deep but I agre some of these projected 2nd rounder in the 30s range could normally be in the 20s range in last year or even the year before draft. Names like Nix and Todd who I see are in the 30-40s could have been take in the 20s last year.

Also a name like BOuknight who some mocks are now putting in the 19? I would take him top 10 in the Ball/Edwards draft. Late lottery names like Duarte,Mitchell,Cooper etc.. I would think be a choice for the 15th pick for us ( assuming all we saw of Cole and RJ is now what they produced in the NBA but before that)
