The Heat was not a tax team this year,
why do we not have the full MLE at 9 million. I actually believe it's the other way around

The "full" mid-level is the largest, and is only available to teams that aren't paying the NBA's luxury tax. It is estimated to be set at $9.246 million for the 2019-20 season. This exception may be split and given to multiple players. It can be used for contracts up to four years in length, with raises up to 5% per year after the first season.

There is exactly 1 key member of the Dallas Mavs aside from Luka Doncic ... and that's Mark Cuban. Everyone else can get right with Doncic or gtfo.

Team not wining a champ unless they can grab KD, Giannis, Curry, or maybe Doncic.

Two ways to win a chip:

1) A bunch of really good players that aren’t high paid, or

2) You have 2 or 3 max paid players that will win you a chip.

With Bam getting the salary bump and Butler already there, option 2 is the only option and their two top players need a top 5 talent in the league.

Safe to assume that Riley is more mentioning the draft "pool" and looking at undrafted players. I don't see us buying into the 2nd round, and I don't see us trading players into it..unless perhaps KZ or Precious can net us a player we're higher on overall.

Ignoring Iggie's repulsive trade idea,

I did hear an idea on the 5 reasons pod that made me wonder -

Would you consider a Herro + Iggy for Malcolm Brogdon trade?

Brogdon is not really a star but he's damn good, and he's a very good fit here, can also play next to Lowry in a double PG lineup, he's big enough to guard SG and he's still only 28YO which is perfectly in-between Bam's and Jimmy's timelines.

He's the kind of player that you need if the plan is to have a strong starting 5 without a real superstar.

Would do that in a nanosecond but is it even possible under the cap? We'd still have a hole at PF but that backcourt would be special on both ends of the floor
