Gobert is the center of this series IMO. Just a -1 on the court. Utah will be fine as long as Conley is fine.

They’re better and the matchup is not ideal with dealing with two highly skilled, massive wings but Gobert can contain it enough.

Conley needs to come back, and put some serious offensive pressure on while adding backcourt speed on defense if they’re gonna win this. Which he absolutely would of, again he’s fine. I hope he is.
Swinging for the fences.

Gobert looked better in isolation on Kawhi/PG than most of the Jazz players, anywho, I liked the confidence everybody showed in the 2nd half, feel good going back to Utah, but lots of work to do.
I bought a boat.

Jazz winning 2nd half by 10 is a good sign they're starting to figure out Lue's adjustments.

Only saw the first half but Gobert did play very good defense.

He was even better in the 3rd quarter.

Kawhi and PG kept trying to iso on him and failed spectacularly.

I am pretty sure Utah's DRTG with Gobert off the court in the playoffs is abysmal.

Clippers have been very resilient this post season, unfortunately.

When’s harden back anyway? KD and Hardeb can easily cruise to a title this year

Who cares? Go to GB to hear how Gobert failed again and that he's nothing more than a roleplayer who is useless in postseason...

Go over to the General Board to find out why breathing causes cancer.

Don't go over to the General Board.

You're welcome. 8-)

Utah's DRTG with Gobert on the bench in this series is 145.2.

Gobert had already racked up three fouls in the first half, so unfortunately the Clippers wasted much of the second half trying to get him fouled out instead of actually running the offense and taking good shots.

You can look from another angle, as you are Clippers fan - how do you view Gobert's defense so far?

Comeback Clippers have been my favorite team to watch in the playoffs so far. I love the thunder and lightning of Kawhi and PGs games - they are so stylistically different but both so effective. Batum was such a huge signing for them.

Gobert's defense was great this game, continually got challenged and never got taken advantage of. It's nuts how effortless the Clippers scoring looks with Favors in even though he's ostensibly a big defensive presence in the middle.

With him trying to play today, it sort of seem like the season might be hanging on Harden's hamstring holding up.

The people who believe Gobert isn't Utah's best player are the same people who blame Doncic for Dallas' shortfalls. They only see one side of the ball and will always blame a players lack of offensive ability for a teams shortcomings even if offense is definitely not the reason their team loses.

Don’t feel good about Harden playing. Could lead to long term issues and compromise the rest of his career.

Also, I think the Nets are just the better team with 2 of the big 3, so I would save Harden for the last 2 games of the series if they lose tonight.

So I've seen maybe half a dozen former players on Twitter applauding Paul for "sticking it to analytics" by hitting so many midrange jumpers against the nuggets. It boggles my mind how a concept so simple as "analytically there's nothing wrong with Paul taking midrange jumpers because he's an elite midrange shooter" is lost on them.

Like this isn't some complicated all in one stat with a formula that's hard to explain. Good midrange shooters should take those shots and most players aren't good enough to shoot them on volume. On top of that, they'd have you think the 3 level scorer doesn't exist anymore. Yes, players take more 3s but outside of harden the best volume scorers who can shoot still take midrange shots.

Now, I have no involvement with youth basketball, so I don't know exactly what they're teaching kids these days. I can't imagine they're going straight to 3s, especially at an age where that's just too far away. And you still have to learn to shoot free throws. It'd be odd to not practice any jumpers in that range.

So yeah, semi-rant over. As a logical person I just can't take the pushback by these guys when the simple info is right in front of them.
