Even as a massive French homer I lean on the side of the defender there, but I was pretty shocked it was not called a penalty. 8/10 times it is.

I have no rooting interest but that seemed extremely clear cut to me.

Gündogan‘s only purpose in this game has been turning the ball over…Kroos was at least aggressive on defense.

He went through the ball is the reason I prefer to side defender there, but from behind that's generally called a penalty.

Guess you can call it either way but I prefer when they give the defender the benefit of the doubt when its not a clear foul.

He is useless. Even Musiala at 17,18 understands the game better than him.

Seemed like it was, but to be fair the broadcast I'm watching only showed the clip one time. Oh well, doesn't matter now.

Fun match. Should have been a larger victory for France but it was extremely competitive throughout.

The French team just looks kinda bored tbh, just waiting Germany to do anything. Well…they won’t.

Löw‘s plan, as usual:

1. Have the ball
2. ???
3. Success

Brilliant.

These interviews from German players after the game thinking they were the better team really amaze me.
Outclassed by a French team that didnt even give 100%.

They won the possession battle 60 to 40, that’s all that matters. It’s a fact and you can trust me, so don’t look it up.

Portugal will have all the leverage after that victory against Hungary.

Expecting much of the same we saw today.
A lot of possession but no results.

Honestly this is just horrible marking on pass 31 (?) of this set (the give and go at the end). All pretty pedantic to that point, but credit to keeping possession and ultimately wilting a portion of the D.
