Seriously, watching him in the post makes me feel like he does it the first time in his career. His footwork is absolutely terrible, he has no feel of defender behind him and his moves are very mechanical.
I don't want to be overly harsh on Giannis after this game because he played his best game of these playoffs so far, but this one aspect just makes me sick when I watch him.
yes.gobert or howard for example.thing is they arent offensive players but excel really on defense.luc longley looks fluid compared to greek freak.not sure he wins comparison against dale davis
what budenholzer fabricated in second half was a crime on basketball though.absolutely inexcusable.
Gobert isn't offensive star though, Dwight was definitely better in the post than Giannis.
Giannis isn’t really a post guy though, as much of a “let me drive budenholzer but ffs counter when they build a damn wall please” guy
Honestly I know bron was hurt but even he struggled a bit when a team just decides to not do the right thinks tactically to certain things sadge, it’s kind of why the post game for the lakers wasn’t effective this year, side tangent but as much as people say the post game is dead it was ridiculously effective for the lakers when they actually were able to counter help D correctly, and we see with the nuggets who are like the golden standard of countering help D in the post a post centric offense can be hella effective
Obv a lot of it comes from his passing but AD and Bron for example are also stupidly effecient post players when the team aren’t idiots, it’s kind of interesting actually
