why can't get over the fact that I wish the Hawks had got Lavine. I still believe that if the Hawks had Lavine in place of Hunter and Huerter or Huerter and Reddish or even Collins, the Hawks would be up 2-1 rather than down 1-2 right now.

All in All I am still proud of the young baby Hawks and the season they had. I think this series is over. The Hawks may win one more. But the 76ers just have to much for the Hawks to overcome. I am really encouraged with the Hawks progression.

But to me it seems like Phily is the team the Hawks will have to be able to beat. I feel it is a matter of time for the Nets decline, weather it be father time or KD, Kyrie, and/or Harden bolt, and I am not concern too much with the Bucks.

So what (who) could the Hawks get to help them get over the Phily-hump?..... What would a realistic roster look like for the Hawks?

Trae Young

Capela
Bench= ?,?,?,?

Don't overlook the Celtics or Heat just because they had a bad season. Toronto is also poised to reload.

I agree that the Celtics hel! the Knicks too, are teams that could beat the Hawks in a playoff series. But I feel we can win against those teams as well. The difference is I believe as this team is presently constructed, we will not be able to win against Phily.

The Hawks have what we need to beat the Sixers on our roster already. Our biggest problem on offense is that we haven't gotten any production from the small forward position. Hill and Snell cannot make the Sixers pay having weaker defenders like Curry defend them. Even Collins has had some difficulty this series on the perimeter considering how hard the closeouts have been. A lot of our offense has been stifled because we don't get good shots once the ball leaves Trae's hands. With Hunter and Reddish available, the Sixers get punished if they want to stop the lob to Capela or Collins.

Lavine only has one more year on hus contract.

Trae, Lavine, Bogi, Hunter, Capela starting 5

Defense and size vs Philly is our problem. Going smaller is not the answer.

If I'm being honest, I think small ball is the only way to stay remotely close in this series. We won Game 1 by going HAM from the 3-pt line. We can't compete trying to dominate the paint; 76ers simply have too much size, strength.

I'd be okay with a 3 guard lineup + Collins and Gallinari in the frontcourt spacing the floor as much as possible to see if we can re-catch lightning in a bottle. And increasing the pace to a frenetic level.

Chris Kirchner wrote:There are potential adjustments the Hawks could look to make Monday night in Game 4, such as starting Kevin Huerter in place of Solomon Hill at the three...

They could go smaller for more minutes and roll out John Collins and Danilo Gallinari in the frontcourt. They clearly do not have an answer in stopping Joel Embiid anyway with Clint Capela starting, and at least a Gallinari and Collins duo allows for maximum offensive spacing and the opportunity to potentially put up as many 3s as possible — a plan that worked in Game 1.

A realistic player acquisition that has the size/range/star power to compete against Embiid and other bigs in the postseason:

Karl Anthony Towns

He's big, unhappy in Minny and is an elite, three level scorer who hates Joel Embiid.

I would pull the trigger on ant Kat trade that doesn’t include Trae. Hopefully we could keep Capela as well but i wouldnt let that be a sticking point.

But is a Kat trade realistic?

1. I'm also on board with pairing a KAT/Capela frontcourt alongside Trae. They'd dominate at rebounding and rim protection.
(Could Okongwu grow into an even better front court partner for KAT?)

2. Everyone leaves Minnesota eventually. Everyone. From Marbury to Garnett to Kevin Love to Andrew Wiggins.

It is inevitable.

NOTE: I'd prefer to keep Hunter here as the ideal 3 & D SF between KAT and Trae's less than stellar defense. But it's hard to construct a trade that doesn't include D Hunter and/or Bogdan Bogdan. And that might be too much.

They win games when they make good defense, but I'm not sure KAT and good defense can match

I'm not a fan of gutting the team for one particular guy even if it's KAT. I'd be willing to offer up Capela and Huerter for whatever center that package can retrieve.

I like being a deep team. I think that is the key for this franchise. Lakers put all their eggs in with Davis and are left holding the bill.

Clint Capela is a REALLY good player.

But he’s not untouchable or irreplaceable.

The good news: it's looking more and more likely that Simmons could be acquired via trade.

The bad news: There's some serious stink on that boy right now. He'd prolly stink up all of State Farm Arena.

I've been calling for Travis to keep this group together from the beginning...let them grow together

Even JC...just not happy that he didn't take the 4@90M. He shoulda

A few minor tweeks and run this core out agin next season plus Hunter and Cam...

For now, let's just see how far these guys can go THIS year...unbelievable

I’m with you. I’d love to add DRose and another shooter, like Korkmaz for the bench. Not sure I want to overpay JC for 4 years, but if he gets a huge contract then I’d be interested in what we do. I wouldn’t mind a SnT for someone like Markkanen who should be a little cheaper. I just don’t want to have payroll issues when Trae and Hunter are ready for their next contracts.

Our other option is to just go all in if Kawhi opts out and see if he wants to come here to play with Trae. I’m hoping Trae’s swagger makes us a destination for stars. We could be Kawhi’s best chance at another championship.

DOn't need the big name dropping. Kawhi is old and high injury risk...pass. Clips played better without him...hummmm?

Trae is our BIG star and he makes everyone on the court much better. That's the kind of big name player I want leading the team

Thoughts on a trade package of Collins, Huerter for Wiseman and #7?

Read on Twitter

We get a young star Center to groom behind Capela. We also get a young prospect at #7 to add to our stable of wing prospects.

Still start

Capela
D Hunter
Bogdan Bogdan
Trae

With Cam, Wiseman and #7 in our development program and a starting lineup of of proven performers — we could pursue a veteran Forward to round out the starting five and be set up for the next 5-7 years.

The value is there..... but I would rather get a star level vet to pair with Trae. Try and get KAT or Lavine.

Really? You're interested in Lavine? Why didn't you say anything about that sooner?
