GT: Nets @ Bucks Game 6 - 6/17/21 8:30 pm EST

Post#1 » by HardenGoat » Thu Jun 17, 2021 12:06 am

Our backs were up against the wall. We had just lost 2 on the road and our second star guard in the process. With the series tied 2-2 we needed a miracle. And that miracle came. With a one legged Harden pushing to play we saw something inspirational and legendary happen right before our eyes. We needed Kevin Durant at his best and he rose to the occasion. He delivered what lazy narratives believed would never happen. A 49 point 17 rebound 10 assist triple double carrying our team and playoff hopes on his back! He is a the best basketball player in the world, and he is on our team! Tomorrow we travel to Milwaukee to face a Bucks team with their backs against the wall. But we know .. and they know .. who the best player is coming into that stadium. Guys, this man is on a mission, he is deadly, and something tells me he is not the kind that plays with his food. He knows Harden from his fledgling days and they have a bond together. Their vision and goal is the same. Win a championship for Brooklyn, whatever it takes, and the taking is there now. Let’s get this done! I know we can do this! I believe!!!

We have played some brutal first quarters. Tomorrow is going to be a dog fight and we need to start off strong.

Road game or not I fully expect Joe to make up for his lack of production.

We need to get everyone involved, come at them with a death by a thousand cuts mentality. A balanced performance by Landry, Bruce, Blake, Uncle Jeff and Mike James.

It kills me that Kyrie is not playing but we do have a lot of well season veterans that are battle tested and can get it done.

Ride the momentum and close this series out !! Lets Go !!

My sentiments as well. I think Joe finds his shot. Just a gut feeling.

Contenders close out series on the road.

With a healthy harden or Kyrie, id think we would do just that. With no Kyrie and the walmart knockoff harden we get with the injury, its likely this goes 7. As awesome as game 5 was, i think we are still underdogs to win this series.

We need harden and harris to hit threes, another good game from blake, and shamet/james to play well.

Whatever the result is, just hope Harden doesn’t aggravate the injury.

Kyrie ruled out for Game 6, so I'm guessing it's the dreaded high ankle sprain.

I hope I'm wrong.

As for Harden, he's playing (again) even though he's obviously playing hurt.

Coming off of the high of yesterday's win and I got hit with the realization that KD will probably have to put up a similar performance in game 6 for us to have a chance. Do I think he can do it? Sure. Is it likely? I doubt it unless Bud is coaching to lose his job.

Its going to be really important for Harden to hit a few shots early on so that he can continue being an effective decoy. Obviously if he gets rolling and becomes a real threat to score that's great. But I honestly don't think he's going to be feeling significantly better, it just didn't look like he really wanted to push himself. The encouraging thing is that on the defensive end he showed some pretty good BBIQ and hands in the 4th to bother Giannis on a few possessions.

Really hope that the team/coaches don't forget just how effective screens and dribble penetration can be. With just 1 star at full health it is really important to make things as easy as possible for our role players. Green and Griffin gave us a huge boost and Shamet was able to contribute in key situations as well. It'll be really important for KD and Harden to be able to put them in positions to succeed again.

Same here.

I pray he gets thru this game without re-injuring and comes back even stronger for Game 7, if necessary.

While it's unlikely KD will drop another 50 on the Bucks, I think he's drop 30'ish and Joe Harris will need to make up the difference by hitting close to ten 3's. Uncle Jeff will need to chip in too, AGAIN, as will Blake, Bruce Brown and the rest of the role players. I'd like to see Claxton get at least 10 minutes too.

Basically to have a chance in Game 6, on the road, EVERYONE needs to show up.

Let's go Hardengoat. Exact same comment from me as before the last game

Backs to the wall, let's steal this one. We need 1 more win and we got the best player in the series

Bucks SHOULD win this one, but you can't say the seeds of doubt have not been planted into their psyche after that game 5. I think they are mentally on the edge of being defeated, we just have to come out and punch them in the mouth and end it. Don't give them any spark of confidence

The role players gotta get ready to take it hard to the Bucks. Bucks aren't known for making adjustments but I'd strongly doubt they will allow KD to single handedly destroy them again. The role players will have openings, they just gotta take them. 3-2 up and with the clear best player in the series who is a 2 time champ, mentally we have the advantage. Let's go nets

I don't think it's a high ankle sprain honestly. That looked along the lines of a typical one. Probably not grade 3 since he was able to walk on his own. He's getting treatment on it so it doesn't look like the Nets think it's definitely season-ending. I'm guessing it's either a Grade 1 sprain or a Grade 2, leaning toward the latter. think best case scenario is the Nets can some how win tomorrow and then Harden can get to the point where he's at least able to get 20/3/9 per game on even slightly below average efficiency (be like a fringe-all-star level Harden) and then the Nets can maybe get through the middle of next round as Kyrie recovers. That would be a solid two weeks. If he can return at even 80% that's great. I remember in the 2015 playoffs even injured he was still very helpful with his shooting and playmaking. if Harden and Kyrie can be somewhat healthy the next week or so everything is great. But first things first: Nets need to try to get that win tomorrow.

They've gone through so much man. Need this.

high ankle sprain only occurs when you get external rotation on the foot. the severity of Ky's sprain depends on if there's ligament tearing or an avulsion fracture (where small fragments of bone to break off at the point where the ligaments attach). We're waiting for a result from the MRIs. Best case is grade 1 sprain (1 week), worst grade 3 (4 - 6 weeks).

With Milwaukee's season on the line on front of their home crowd, I think we'll see their best adjustments. Seeing a modicum of scoring production from Harden would be huge. Joe had his best chance of getting off the Schneid on Tuesday, in a lower-leverage home playoff game. He's useless offensively for the rest of this series, the stage is too big for his talent/mental makeup. Kevin gon' Kevin, and I'm glad to witness it.

Go Brooklyn!

Ay you said it, KD is on a mission. KD will not allow us to lose, not in the 2nd round. He will prove again he is the best player. I'm thinking he puts up another 40 or close it out. I really hope we can get this W, game 7s are nerve wrecking. We can't expect uncle Jeff to put up 27 again, we need Harris to give us some cleans 3s. I see Harden playing better than last game. And Bruce and Claxton should be playing some good minutes in this one. Lets close this one out please

I think it has to be a grade 1 or 2 low ankle sprain with the negative xray result and the fact that you can't walk on a grade 3 at all due to loss of joint function. Usually this is a 1-3 week injury

The role players just need to hit open shots. The nets need to move the ball. They get in these holes and have to fight out of it. Start strong and confident and put this team down. No game seven. I hope joe shoots better. He really makes it so much easier on harden and Durant if he does. I know they have been guarding him better but come on joe hit those open threes

If he tore ligaments in his ankle he would be done for the season and need surgery
