I don't care who the new coach is so long as he/she can make adjustments during games and teach ball movement.

I used to dog on Lue because I thought he was a product of LBJ, but he really is a good coach. His adjustments tonight (getting Kennard going and going small later) won the game for LAC tonight.

Hope GM Stevens is watching and learning when he considers who to hire.

That'd be a hilariously obvious choice. And very Celticish.

Like, it wouldn’t be a huge PR win?

Sure the 99% leftist media would praise it from here to forever. But who cares is what I say. Let's get the coach that will lead the Jays to the promised land, PR be danged

If he wanted to coach here the Celtics would be idiots not to hire him. He’s one of the best coaches in the NBA.

Well I mean...I'll just be the one to say it would be perceived as a tone deaf hire especially with Brad Stevens ascending to GM and not allowing any other minority candidates a shot. In a perfect world would I hire him? Sure. But given Kyrie and Boston's racial history its probably better to let him go somewhere else and for Boston to focus on repairing its image. If they hire him its going to tell the current team that Kyrie was right about Boston and Jaylen/Tatum will be pushed further. The only "white candidate" they could probably sell is that Jobber, Jay Larranaga and only because it seems like Tatum likes him. But if the Celtics come out of this with a White Male GM and a White Male HC then they learned absolutely nothing about the social climate of this city and the team. Just a brutally honest opinion.

I say get the best coach available which would be him Rick easily. That being said, I don’t know how likely it is.

Is he? He hasn’t made it out of the first round in 10 years.

Brad has lived in the conference finals, and the fan base is ready to ship him out.

If they interview a bunch of coaches and he's the best canidate hire him. Period.

In the western conference it’s hard even making the playoffs. When has Dallas had a contending team? Not very often, except when dirk was in his prime.

Not sure he's the best coach for this team though. For this team you could make a case that Kara Lawson would be a better coach for the 2021-2022 Celtics than Carlisle. Doesn't mean he's not a top 10 coach but when you take into account outside factors such as Social Justice and the rising view of Boston as being unfriendly to certain ethnic groups its tough to justify bringing him in. They have a great opportunity to work towards rewriting the narrative of the city for this new generation. The Celtics were the first organization to have a black head coach and an all african american starting 5. But the new generation doesn't even know that. Its as relevant as winning the 1963 World Championship to them.
