RC has 2 years left on his deal. Maybe a buyout?

Carlisle is going to have a line of teams wanting to sign him. Am I wrong in saying that if another team wanted to sign him they would owe the Mavs compensation to sign him?

Goodbye.

Sadly, don't have much faith in Cuban. This dude just turned into a complete degenerate.

If you're not aware, he is in the news because he lost like 4 million (pocket change) in a crypto exploit.

I cannot understand how the Mavs can allow such bad communication to happen and let the organization be ridiculed by freaking Tim Cato's article on the athletic. It's comical.

Lots of good candidates.

Chauncey Billups
Mark Jackson
Sam Cassell
Becky Hammon
Mike D'Antoni

And Doc Rivers if the Sixers lose to ATL

I’d also throw in Adrian Griffin and Juwan Howard.

Would love to have a former Maverick at the helm

I'd go and check on Rick Adelman, if he's bored in his retirement home, MDA fits this team very well, ball dominant playmaker who can score from anywhere, and 3 point shooters.

This was a model franchise in the early to mid 2000s.
I hope Cuban is financial problems, or sees great investment opportunity and sells the team.
Dallas is too serious a city for this **** show.

MDA should be able to turn this into rhe circa 2018 Houston Rockets. The defense is suspect though.

I like the idea of getting Mark Jackson.

Cuban is going completely mental right now and i just praised him 2 days ago. What the hell??? And worst of it all, Luka will get the most blame for all of this at the end. It's a great way to piss off your franchise player who you said you want to keep for the next 20 years.

There are definitely some good candidates.

Here’s the question. Does Cuban want a yes man and keep everything status quo? If he does he will promote Michael Finley and promote Jamal Mosley to HC.

If Mark is really serious about winning he will hire Ujiri and allow him to hire his head coach.

I believe Juwan Howard pulled him name out of the NBA coaching pool. He wants to stay at Michigan.

This is directly related to whatever the hell Cuban is doing behind the scenes. I’d say it’s safe to say that he wasn’t happy with Donnie being fired. Or maybe Cuban has decided to bring back the analytics nerd and wasn’t happy about that.

This looks like a protest resignation. No other way to see it. If that's the case, Mark Cuban looks terrible.

The first thing that needs to happen is that Cuban needs to talk to the media... and soon. And if this effects the Doncic signing, this town won't forgive him.

Yeah this feels like Carlisle siding with Donnie. Like if Donnie's gone, he's packing his bags too. The poker dude sure caused a lot of friction. Which begs the question, why all of this just now? I mean Voulgaris has been enployed for a couple of years now. He wasnt just hired yesterday.

Cuban must, and I mean must, get Dirk on some position in this team, either assistant director or assistant coach, he must save face.

This sucks. One of the few coaches in the NBA who actually adjusts in the playoffs. Guess Cubes wanted to clean house.

He resigned, technically, Cuban can go to court and sue him for breach of contract (unless he has a clause), realistically, they both wish each other best of luck, and RC can go choose whichever team he wants coach away from this madness.
The only bright side of this, there's a chance for a coach that will utilize KP better.

He can’t sign with another team though correct. Not while he’s still under contract with the Mavs.

The modern NBA doesn't bode well with Rick's old school style. He was still micromanaging a 39 year old Jason Kidd. That's like giving training wheels to an 18 year vet. There are jokes about him around the league.

There's no one left in the organizational structure to take the blame other than Cuban. It's bad communication on his part. That's the minimum damage.

Cuban will waive it, there's no chance he stands in his way, RC wouldn't have made it public if Cuban was to stand in his way.

In fairness, there was no hint during the season of that much drama or anything suggesting any of this.

In fact, even after G7, everyone expected coach/GM to be back.

So........ even if there may have been some issues during the year, this was triggered by something that happened recently. And the logical expectation is that RC wants out because Nelson was fired.

Looks like Cuban is listening to Luka. Not that Luka has been asking for Carlisle to go but if he hasn’t been getting along with your star player someone has to go and it’s not going to be the 22 year old All NBA player.
