Starting today, the leaders of the AL East, NL East, NL Central, NL West, and NL Wild Card had AT MOST a 3.5 game lead over the next closest opponent. Yet, on ESPN we get "The Contender," which I'm sure is a fine program, but not during September of baseball. On ESPN2, we get Sacramento vs. Richmond, a battle between the winners of two Triple-A minor leagues. I'm sorry, what? I'm sure the dozens of fans for both respective teams were thrilled to have their pride and joy on national television, but isn't this where Major League Baseball should take, oh I don't know, just a tad bit more precedence?
Am I wrong for thinking this? I understand that the Reds and Cubs will be on tomorrow night, but seriously...Sacramento and Richmond?
